Why do people compare being gay to bestiality?

It's no excuse but just how they feel about it. You are the one who is judging about the feelings of others now. If something is disgusting for somebody then it is just this even if others are totally into it. It's the reason that homosexuality is still forbidden by the penalty of death in some countries today.
It's the same like if it comes to special food. There are people who are totally into eating living shells, worms, insects, ape brains or fermented eggs and others are more likely to vomit as soon as they even hear about this.

If you're comparing consensual homosexual relations with rape of children or animals you're lying to either yourself or everyone else. You can be repulsed by it, but to compare it with rape either amounts to trivializing rape or comparing consensual sex with non-consensual sex, either way that person is admitting to morally reprehensible views on sexuality that are inherently based in a dishonest comparison of unlike things.

One can argue that not rape = rape all one likes but that argument will never cease to be foolish and wrong.

There are no real limits if it comes to perversions. That some perversions are really bad doesn't mean that people feel nice about others or the same like you about it. In some countries where homosexual relations are illegal is marriage of children (e.g. 9 year old girls) legal. Once you are against this then some moslems may call you a racist just because you are disliking them.

Activities between consenting adults are never comparable to rape no matter how many poor attempts at pretending otherwise you trot out.

Because they are all a sexuality. People don't choose to be attracted to kids or to animals and dead bodies.

Pedophilia falls under sexual disorders but some medical experts think it's a paraphilia so they fall under both. They just can't agree what it is.
