I love it when you just appear all of a sudden, like a bolt from the blue... I'm sure that should just read "CAT POWER" (??) if it's the same band, I like their song "Metal Heart" and Elliott Smith is pretty neat, had to check my Ella files, not sure if I had that one and... ummm, I don't actually!

^_^ Thanks! I've never heard of "Cat Power," but the Cat Powers song is from the Juno soundtrack. I've never seen the movie, but I do enjoy the soundtrack. That's one of my least favorite songs on it, though. And I love Ella Fitzgerald (except when she's doing the "jazzy" voice thing, like saying "be doo be bop ba dop," etc, which kind of drives me crazy). Unfortunately, what I've got on my new mp3 player is still pretty limited, so any 10-song shuffles I do are fairly redundant.

hi Kaybee... weren't you able to transfer all your historic files onto your new mp3, that's what is making your shuffle limited? Oh about "Cat Powers" I see this, my knickers in a twist again LOL, I have such attention to detail it can often mislead, in any case you're saying the song is called Cat Powers and so I must find out about the movie called Juno... off-shoots into Gun Club's "Mother Juno" album and the excellent Juno Reactor (yawn, sorry - here goes with the next shuffle)... and brings up some Al Jolson - hope that Kaybee likes!?

The Waves (Le Onde) - LUDOVICO EINAUDI - Echoes
Four Leaf Clover/Babyface - AL JOLSON - Disco, Dancehall and Vaudeville
Panic On - MADDER ROSE - Panic On
I Want You - ELVIS COSTELLO - Singer Songwriter (Rough Trade)
These Days - JOY DIVISION - Substance
Always - BLINK 182 - Greatest Hits
Orange Apple'd - COCTEAU TWINS - Love's Easy Tears
Lovers' Jamboree - NICK LOWE - Basher: The Best Of Nick Lowe
Put Me Down - THE CRANBERRIES - Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
Europe Endless - KRAFTWERK - Trans-Europe Express

Tori Amos "Northern Lad" YES! YES!! YES!! ! (ummm bit of a fan, my folder has around 350 of her songs) and "Dreaming My Dreams" just brings back so many memories from '94... "All the things you said to me today changed my perspective in every way" - that album meant a lot to me back then, every song on it!

Tori Amos is easy to love - besides being a musical genius, she manages to be political without offending anyone (well, apart from the extremely hypersensitive) 8) :)

I can't fit all songs onto my MP3 player either (gotta buy a bigger memory card). But I just realized that I can add the songs to Media Player Classic and randomize. Here's the result:

1. Angie Stone: Coulda Been You
2. Tori Amos: Taxi Ride
3. Erykah Badu: Kiss Me on My Neck (Hesi)
4. Madonna: Ray of Light
5. Coldplay: Yellow
6. Whitney Houston: My Love Is Your Love
7. Elvis Presley: Too Much
8. Johnny Cash: Don't Take Your Guns to Town
9. Metallica: Of Wolf and Man
10. Macy Gray: Gimme All Your Lovin' or I Will Kill You

I wasn't able to, no. My previous player died with poor timing (literally on the same day that I was planning to back up all my music onto my new hard drive--the previous HD it had been on was lost), and I was unable to save any of its contents. I wasn't saying that the song is called Cat Powers--the song is titled "Sea of Love" and it is performed by a woman named Cat Powers. Sorry for the confusion. ^_^ I don't know if the movie is any good--I've heard mixed reviews. It didn't look particularly interesting to me, so I haven't gone out of my way to see it, but I understand it's quite popular. And Kaybee does like Al Jolson! :D I've already got some of his songs on my new mp3 player.

I'm not even sure I can stay awake to go through 10 songs here. But, here goes nothing...

578. Man Must Die - No Tolerance For Imperfection
579. John Butler Trio - Money
^ Yep. 11 minute song. I really may not make it to the end of 10 songs here. Freaking 12 hour day at work.

580. Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
581. Sublime - Smoke Two Joints
582. Laura Branigan - Self Control
^ No good list is complete without one 80s pop song.

583. Killswitch Engage - My Last Serenade (live, in Worcester?)
584. Guess what cheesy Cosmic Gate song ended up here?
585. Bob Marley - Lively Up Yourself
586. Arcade Fire - We Used To Wait
^ I just heard this song an hour ago. Or shortly before I started this list. How long has this been going anyway?

587. High on Fire - Khanrad's Wall

Hey, I made it to the 10th song. Sweet.

7. D'Arcy McGee-Mike Ford

8. Great Big Sea/Gone By the Board-Great Big Sea

9. That's Any Good-The Cocksure Lads

10. The Kid's Song-Moxy Fruvous

Hmm....not the songs I typically listen to.

LOL that would be funny if someone hadn't heard of Fleetwood Mac... and I quote from Quartz above this post, loved seeing Juno Reactor in the mix, also today I saw a TV ad for a new album by... Manic Street Preachers, wow I never knew they still existed! I agree too there should be a top eighties song in each list...

Also can I ask Quartz if he/she/they always stay awake and actually listen to the shuffle; I think that's a fair question to ask because sometimes I click next on iTunes simply because I am too impatient to wait and find out what the next song is!

Looks like the shuffler was in a mainstream mood today, check this lot!

I Could Be Happy - ALTERED IMAGES - Pinky Blue
Frozen - MADONNA - 1983-2009 Hits So Far
Run Like Hell - PINK FLOYD - Pulse
It's All Coming Back To Me Now - CELINE DION - My Love: Ultimate
Nightrain - GUNS 'N' ROSES - Appetite For Destruction
The Importance Of Being Idle - OASIS - Greatest Hits
I Have A Dream - ABBA - Gold
If You Can't Give Me Love - SUZI QUATRO - Best Of
One Way Or Another - BLONDIE - Greatest Hits
Set Adrift On Memory Bliss - PM DAWN - The Best Of PM Dawn

Yep, that's much more mainstream than normal from you.

Except I'm not sure if I would admit to the whole Celine Dion part there.

580. Since some of you claim you've never heard of them before:

627. Rush - Vital Signs
628. Bruce Springsteen - Radio Nowhere
629. Armin van Buuren - Burned By Desire (Rising Star remix)
630. North Mississippi Allstars f. RL Burnside, et al - Psychedelic Sex Machine (live @ Bonnaroo 6-11-04)
631. Bent - As You Fall (Kyau vs. Albert remix)

632. Bassnectar - Boombox (original version)
633. Isis - In Fiction
634. Raphael Saadiq f. Joss Stone - Just One Kiss
635. Ensiferum - From Afar
636. Ensiferum - By The Dividing Stream

Strangely enough, those are the only two Ensiferum songs on here - and yet they appear back to back and then in reverse order from the album.

Hey Quartz, have you heard Raphael Saadiq's first LP? I played that to death during my neo soul phase.

Last 10 for me;

Jammin' Unit – Dropout Dub
Ultramagnetic MC's – Critical Beatdown
Edward Martin and Paul Berget – Sonata in C Major (Weiss) - Largo
Contemporary Noise Quintet – Invisible Train
The Walker Brothers – The Electrician
Osborne – The Count
Roll The Dice – A Price for Liberty
Curtis Mayfield – Move On Up
Björk – Jóga
Flying Lotus – Orbit Brazil

Have to say I probably enjoyed Move On Up the best. A very uplifting record.

I only have The Way I See It from him.
