A lot of 80's stuff there :D Hungry Eyes is Eric Carmen's other hit I guess, not sure I even have it, I sort of quite like Culture Club though maybe it isn't something you should admit to, then, I'm not gay but I loved FGTH and Erasure, sometimes we should avoid labels... don't know the Rick Astley song either! In any case, this shuffle couldn't have started with anything more embarrassing surely?

Of the last few lists, Gamma's is the one where I've recognized the most songs from. Amanda is however my least favorite Boston song, of the ones I know. Which is amazing, since much of the Boston stuff I've heard is way overplayed in my head. It's not like they were *that* bad musically (see: Ernie and the Automatics). Just every major Boston song has been played to death in my mind.

On number 891 is *don't remember* meaning that it's one you have no idea or does it mean one of those that come up as unknown on the tag for whatever reason?

I must have hundreds that just say a song title only on iTunes so I sometimes have to Google for more information!

I know what it was. Just as I was listening to the iPod, the song went along and I never put it down on the list here. Then a couple songs later, I forgot what it was.

Gaslight Anthem = New Jersey based punk-ish band. You can tell they're heavily influenced by Springsteen, the Jersey sound.
Electric Wizard = kind of like Black Sabbath, the old school doom/stoner metal sound

Deep Dish / Stevie Nicks - Dreams
Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams
Steve Winwood - The Finer Things
Dillinger - Cocaine In My Brain
Dave Matthews Band - What You Are

Billy Joel - Angry Young Man (live)
The Dead Weather - I Can't Hear You
Fleetwood Mac - Dreams
Pink Floyd - One Of These Days
Bruce Hornsby - Stranded on Easy Street

1) Congrats on 1,500 entries! :sunny:
2) Thanks for the info/descriptions - going to check out Gaslight Anthem...
:study:

"Mozambique" - Bob Dylan - Desire (Remastered)
"1979" - Smashing Pumpkins - Rotten Apples
"Hey" - Pixies - Doolittle
"Cut Me Down" - Lloyd Cole & The Commotions - 1984/1989
"Take Me" - Everything But The Girl - The Language Of Life
"Walk Out" - UB40 - Present Arms In Dub
"Trouble Waiting To Happen" - Warren Zevon - Sentimental Hygiene
"Time And Time Again" - Counting Crows - August And Everything After
"Pretty Vacant" - Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks
"I'm In Love With A Girl..." - Another Sunny Day - Air Balloon Road

I think there are some great tracks here, fact if it had not been for The Sex Pistols I would have struggled with a couple of others for a favourite but, "Pretty Vacant" is pretty much a classic.

So what do you think of the Gaslight Anthem?

I like the Sex Pistols. I'm drawing a blank as to what Dylan era that song came from. The Smashing Pumpkins song is pretty good. I've heard of other people on the list, but not familiar with the songs.

Gaslight Anthem
"THE 59 SOUND"

This is up there with my George Thorogood and The Fabulous Thunderbirds... yay maybe I could iron to this! Well it has attitude, the first song I played was "Baby Casanova" which was a bit rock-a-billy-ish, the 59 sound itself reminded me of Gin Blossoms who knows why, right now I am listening to Even Cowgirls Get The Blues and I will leave it playing a while, thanks to Quartz for the feed. :flower:

Someone did say a few months ago that they were supposed to research "Great Big Sea". Maybe it was you.

I haven't heard of the Red Spiders, what's their music like?

Here is Great Big Sea website: http://www.greatbigsea.com.

EDIT: If the link doesn't work, just type the address in your address bar.
