Modern TV is just noise, distraction, and yes, religion and references to religion.

The only channel I get that's worth watching is the retro TV channel, showing old Matlock, Knight Rider, A-team series, and I don't even watch this much. I haven't seen reference to religion in this, but lots of commercials for hearing aids and other things marketed to old people.

Does anyone else think TV has been a lot less religious in years past? Many of the older people I've known have been nonreligious, and still others who might have been have not let it show through. My 75 year old friend says his wife made him into an atheist, and that when she was dying, she never said "why me", and never went through a stage of bargaining with a higher power. She stuck with her beliefs to the very end, and my friend says he learned a lot from her. That's integrity.

Isn't it a sin to market bible products? :? I'm atheist anyways, but I'd think religious people would have something against selling golden cross necklaces in infomercials. Well, I think they're greatly annoying anyways. :|

I'm Christian, and I can't stand "Christian" television. Not that you get much of it in England. But when I see what's on things like the godless channel, I feel like putting a brick through the screen. One time, I switched on, and they were selling holy hankies. Seriously...

Christians should be out in the community, doing their best to look after their fellow human being. Not watching snake oil salesmen on television.

Yes, it is a sin... it's mentioned in the Bible. Peter warns his readers to be careful of those who would make merchandise of you, and so does Jude, Jesus' brother. In the book of Acts Peter turns round and lays into some guy called Simon who wanted to buy the Holy Spirit off him so he could perform miracles... that's where the word "simeony" comes from.

I'm an atheist but Underoath is actually a decent metal band.

I don't know honestly, but I think it's only about money. I used to be religious myself but I don't trust any religion anymore because of this. It's funny that every televangelist is filthy rich. I saw one advertising that you could go on a trip around the world with him on his yacht and listen to him preach every night. No thanks, he's a scammer like all the others.

It is about money. They tend to forget that Jesus was homeless, and when he was crucified, the only thing He owned was the coat on His back.

Fortunately being Christian isn't about believing these schysters, it's about believing Him. You've got to admit, there's a world of difference between Jesus and Benny Hinn.

Actually, that's only on the local channels on Sundays. On cable TV on every other channel, it's bursting at the seams with liberal, anti-Christian drivel.

I don't watch TV anymore. Thank God. Thank you Misscontrue and IdahoRose, for reminding me of the stuff I wouldn't miss in the slightest. :) The History, descovery, and animal planets I will watch if they plan on putting something interesting on.

Not every muslim person is a terrorist... It seems to me that people who have friends do not have a muslim friend and so do not care and are ready to discriminate. I've asked some questions to a muslim about religion and the answers matched mine. A christian would have got them wrong...

Now, people say, we await for Jesus's return, but if he did, then you would probably incarcerate him. This leads me to believe you will wait for a return of something that is may never come, even if it has and has gone already.

The UK only had limited channels because the interference with French transmitters, we have to give in to them and therefore we have less channels.

I hate people that always say "praise jesus, praise the lord" This makes me think they are crazy and want to keep away from them
