I've thought that Americans were the cussers.

Australian people speak a different dialect and use different words to us in the UK. New Zealand English is more akin to British English than Australian English. Australian English is more masculine and aggressive. :)

And people in England use 'bloody' all the time - though not in business settings or in polite conversation. Often used to express anger without being too rude.

I'm going to Gib next week so Llanito should be an interesting sort of dialect. It's Andalusian Spanish influenced heavily by English and some other foreign borrowings. :)

What are Gib and Llanito?

Now, I understand that British English is more proper.

Me either. Not even sure what they mean. I assumed the one was a way to defeat the
profane language filter.

I wonder why I find British humor so hard to take in.

Gib = Gibraltar, a tiny British overseas territory (really a town) located near the southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. About 27,000 people live there.

Llanto = a dialect of Andalusian Spanish they speak there. As I say, heavily influenced by English and some words from other languages.
