Smoking isn't that important. Freedom is.

I don't believe that anyone should have control over anyone else's life. That said, I don't smoke and find the smell of cigarette smoke intolerable. I just don't think the solution is to make smoking illegal.

Ah, the IQ defense. I'm sorry but I find that funny Are you implying race equals intelligence? you're assuming race equals intelligence when you're not factoring in GENERATIONAL poverty as a contributor to low IQ scores as well as cultural bias in IQ testing, which can NEVER be totally taken out of these tests. If you were to take one of the first IQ tests binet made two hundred years ago, you'd more than likely be lower than average. You're relating IQ level with earning money. IQ and income are correlational, that does not imply causation. However, people who go to college are more likely to earn more, and more whites attend college. SO income is relational to education level, not IQ. That's not PC, it's truth. If educational (and emphasis on education) oppurtunities were equal, then income becomes equal. And that is the only way.

The argument has shifted from should smoking be banned in all public places, to health issues, and if smokers are not worthy of your tax dollars, much less their own, neither are people who drink, are overweight, even when they have proven to live shorter lives, so all the politically correct will have their bed ridden fifteen years in a 24/7 nursing home. Now that sounds expensive.

Business has been sued for Gender Discrimination by genders we had no idea existed.

"Are you feeling OK." Has become harassment, suggesting female problems made the person an inferior worker.

When the lawsuits and lawyers, working both sides of the street as usual, cost more than the payroll, the factories went to Mexico.

There I do not have to hire whoever got out of jail that day, or ran through their last discrimination settlement, and I am forbiden from asking more than name and social security number. Age, health, are you pregnant, education, why you weigh 450 pounds, work experance, we have to turn to a private investagator to discover.

Once hired you are stuck with them, fired they sue. They do not mention that they were hired by your competitor. With everyone concentrating on putting business out of business, welcome to globalism.

In mexico the cost of labor is about what we paid in the USA for Social Security, and there are many layers of deadhead office and paper work that do not have to be done, filing reports and payments to States, Counties, about everything and anything the PC crowd put on us. The dollar is being taxed directly, Canidain dollars are now worth more, and after the price of gold doubled, they quit reporting it, oil at $100 a barrel, $13 when Halliburton took the Presidency, and the true cost of the war is hidden, in keeping the munitions factories running. The real cost comes when they can no longer borrow, and the war stops.

The Religious Right, The Politically Correct, with oil company backing, and the Military/Industrial complex, have been running a 51% Dictatorship. They will make enough to leave, and their allies in the big theft will be left with making the payments on a big house, in a sea of hungry, angry, people.

Come what may you will have none of the earning power, education, and all of the debt.

The effects of Tetra Ethel Lead in gas was a lot worse than I thought. Several hundred million tons saturated the most densely inhabited places.

The Greeks destroyed themselves by winning wars, having slaves, who were put to mining silver, which is lead/silver/zinc, and refining it, by boiling off the Zinc and Lead, did the same to their cities and lands, and Greek culture died in a generation.

Rome was a bit better, they captured the lead, used it in aquaducts, pottery glazes, and they also when in a hurry, for the army had to be paid, sacked Numidia, and brought the ore to Rome to refine, and then you get Caligula. Soon after Rome was a wasteland.

They had built an empire over five hundred years, they lost it in a few generations.

Now I am watching how Empires fall due to lead again.

Most of the Gold of Rome, and Silver, for they looted the world to make coins, went to China, for silk, spices, and basically labor. I wasn't talking about intelligence. I'm saying that IQ (not important what it means) correlates well with income (causation is irrelevant). If you look at IQ and income you might find something like:
IQ 70-80 $10,000/year
IQ 80-90 $20,000/year
IQ 90-100 $30,000/year
and so on

Since IQ is related to income, you have to adjust for IQ to see whether discrimination is really occurring. If the average black with an IQ of 100 earns twice as much as the average white with an IQ of 100, then racial discrimination is probably a problem.

The example I used comes from a scientific study that sought out to determine whether blacks earn less due to racial discrimination. (The study had nothing to due with whether there are genetic racial differences.) It's a fact blacks earn less on average than whites but the reason for it is debatable. Many people assume that racism is a problem because blacks earn less. But to really know, you have to adjust for known variances among races that are correlated with income. Since IQ is correlated with income and IQ varies among races, you logically have to adjust for IQ.

The results of the study were:
Blacks and whites with the same IQ living in the North have the same average income. Therefore, there's no evidence of racial discrimination in the North.

Blacks living in the South with the same IQ as whites earn less. Therefore, racial discrimination against blacks may still be a problem in the South. [Of course, other factors such as education like you mentioned may explain the income difference so it's not necessarily due to racial discrimination]

You never heard of Prohibition, apparently. They tried to ban booze and that didn't work to well, it only created a black market that benefited The Mob.
