If one's voice is sufficiently mellefluous then one may employ the world famous "BBC English Accent." This is a rich although somewhat toned down version of the "Public School" accent' and not indicative of any specific locality within the Isles.

Please avoid slang terms of course, and do not use words such as "bloody" unless in quotes.

Most people don't speak like that here. If you spoke like that in England (unless you were in a very posh area) it would get noted.

I know that if you said some of the other swear words that we have in England, they would still not be very happy with you!

This is proof that Bruce Forsyth has been on American TV. He hosted an Americanized version of the show called "Hot Streak," which unfortunately, didn't last too long.

The announcer in this clip, Gene Wood, was most famous here in America for announcing the show that you Australians call "Family Feud." He passed away 3 years ago.

Really!

I remember the "C" word incident on "Countdown" with Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman said "Wash your mouth out!" when that word was made.

This was when the set was similar to how it looks today.

Since the two host switches, I don't think the set of "Countdown" has changed much.

I remember Richard say the same thing about three times, but he had to take it back every single time!
