I am just about as baffled as I can be about how people prioritize things. Any given day I can recall I see the stupidest behavior, driving, work practice as I could imagine and it is me that is the one that continually gets ostrasized. Is my social behavior worse than a completly inepet driver, worse than an army of duche bags driving hummer 2's and dodge rams that have never left the highway, worse than an ruling class elite and economic system designed to keep 90 percent of people on the planet in poverty? There was a guy on CBC the other day who kept repeating the question "what is the most important thing in the world?", and then answering himself with "repeat after me, money!". He is right, but I don't understand how a society predicated on self indulgence can feign interest in other peoples emotionalizing, to the point where anyone who can't fake it is allowed to be berated, bullied, and otherwise abandond to themselves. Yeah, I got a learning disorder but even I know that there are more important things than money, and that it doesn't have to be like this. Anyone I have talked with this about refers to the point that this is not for me to decide, you can't change the way things are....f**k free will man and f**k whatever you think makes sense. Just pretend you care about something other than yourself and thow shalt be included in our people games. Whoopy!

Neither do I understand their foolish ways.

Money is awesome, it enables you to accomplish things that you couldn't do without it. I could build an all out drag race car all by myself and that would make me happy for a period of time. Having 10 people helping me and no money wouldn't do anything for me, I'd get no where. Money > everything else.

Hummer and Ram drivers aren't the best. Irritates me to no end that people buy vehicles to suit an image rather than to actually compliment their life style. My girlfriend's brother insisted on buying a Land Rover Freelander to haul his 4 kids around because I guess he thinks that having a Land Rover means he has a tough off-road vehicle (which it isn't) and in fact probably has less room for his kids than my mid-sized sedan.

yes, this is a cold and mean world we live in, with the lions' share of folk thoroughly ignorant or bereft of the divine. you mentioned watching the CBC so i'm guessing you are one of the very fortunate canadians on WP, i am envious of you for that. i like to believe you northerners are a bit more civilized and community-oriented than those of us south of the 49th parallel, and that as bad as your description of your milieu up there, it is even worse south of your national border, which is a place where rampant "dog-eat-dog" individualism trumps all, and the only "golden rule" belongs to those with all the gold. IOW, things can always be worse.

Not designed. Evolved over the last eight thousand years or thereabouts of market forces.

He is wrong. Money itself is an amoral tool which can easily be misused. The important thing is that many people are prepared to do so.

Correct. At best, money is but a BandAid that never sticks for very long, and having a warehouse full of them does not keep anybody from getting hurt.

Values and class warfare. A lack of the first, and always seeking someone, somewhere, where they the lowly can get over.

It is historical, and recent, for 10% gained control, and it does not matter if you call the rest slaves, serfs, or citizens, the deal stays the same.

The 10% do not fight to stay on top, they play the rest against each other.

The largest danger to the top is not the strong, they can be bought, it is the ones who just go their own way. It is why the Principal of a school tells the coach to have the football team, show the science geeks who runs things.

Republican, Democrat, races, women, religions, genders, it is all the same, play them all against the center.

So just go your own way, live your life, and agree with them all, but do as you will.

Most people are stupid and self centered. They look to the television and the people around them to find out how to act. Most people have never gotten any real life experience at all. They think the world is a beautiful place and that people are basically care bears until they are pushed flat on their back. Life became easier for me when I realized that people are basically stupid and haven't lived through the hardships of something like aspergers so they don't understand it. Its better to just let them do what they want to do and choose which ones you are willing to hang around with.
