Do you like what you see?

How much do you think you've changed?

I've been coming here for around 6 months now. I don't feel bad about my old posts, but I have noticed that I seem to connect a little better with people now. I also seem to have gained some relationships in those months, which is good. I hadn't noticed. It's interesting to become aware of things like that, they can creep up on you.

So, In the interests of self science, I recommend you read the first few pages of your old posts, and then come back here and report.

I've grown a bit cynical and trollish.

For me it was a very long time ago. I was living in Ireland, still on the antidepressants, a happier person in some ways, (not because of the antidepressants.) I am perhaps a stronger person now but not happier.

I've calmed down, quite a bit, and The Beatles were my favourite rock band, the summer that I've joined here, back in 2004. I didn't have a proper role model, back than. I was also calling myself, the twin of Austin Powers. I also had quite the sex drive. I also loved my unisex horn-rimmed glasses. Glasses that I never really needed. I was afraid that if people were to see me without glasses, that they'd think I was Mentally Challenged. I was really into weight loss. The only things that remain the same, is that The Monkees and Are You Being Served, are still my two favourite TV shows.

I haven't been here long enough. lol

However, there are other forums I've been at for years and I know I've changed. I was a bit more liberal 5 years ago. 8O

I think I'm the same, albeit a bit more certain of myself. (Is that a good thing? )

I feel embarrassed looking back at my old posts, because I've changed so much since then. When I joined here, I was obsessed with anime, especially Hellsing and Trinity Blood. I got angry with people who didn't agree that they were the best anime series ever, or if they thought the subbed version was better than the dubbed. I openly flirted with other members despite the fact that I was underage. At different points I claimed to be lesbian or bisexual. I was really immature back then, and I probably said a lot of other things I regret.

Now I'm a fan of live-action films rather than anime. I'm more mellow now; I can respect other peoples' opinions if they don't agree that my favorite films are great. I don't flirt with people very much anymore, at least not on the forums. I realized I'm not lesbian or bisexual, even though I do appreciate my favorite actresses for their beauty and talent. I sometimes say things like "Helena Bonham Carter is so hot", but it's just a joke.

Well when I first joined WP, it was at a time when I wasn't very active on the internet. I was very shy and hadn't interacted with many people online. I notice the tone in my posts gradually changed throughout the months and years. I came off either shy or annoying (I guess I still have these traits) but I remember stupidly posting in threads and getting all angry at other posters. I notice I'm much more cautious now than I was then. I don't debate as much as I use to especially with some of the users in the Love and Dating department, man that was a depressing place. So yeah I think I've made a couple of positive changes.

I think I've went from writing merely one or two lines, to advancing to three or four lines , a 200 % rise in openness.

I dont think anything has changed about me since February.

I have seen my old posts before they were all deleted and have been shocked by my own posts. I even came off as all innocent when I first joined here.

I have gotten in dramas here in the past because a few people would piss me off or they just started attacking me for no reason because they had their own issues. I also used to make fun of people who piss me off and I used to troll someone here because I was very bothered by his posts and his behavior. Now I try hard to not attack people when they act stupid and piss me off.

When I joined back in 2004 the site was only two week old and at that time was only 31 days after I discovered I had aspergers. A lot of my posting back then was the result of a lot of self examination as I was *finally* coming to grips with who I was as a person. Before that point in my life I had increasingly felt more isolated and lost in society as the days and weeks passed.

Plus at the time I was going to a four year college and I needed a lot of assistance from all you guys here that I could make it through.

I actually just read a few of my really old posts and was forced to wonder.. what the f*** was I talking about... :hmph: now I'm a lot less verbose and yet a lot more spammy...I read some silly response that I made to auntblabby and I was seriously embarrassed. It was so bad that I sounded more like a parody of a verbose, pretentious jerk than an actual verbose and pretentious jerk.

I'm pretty sure I will go like "I really said that?!" if I ever go back in the future. I've only been here for around a week so its a tidbit too early to say if i've changed :)

Surely that's better than the other way around?
