I want to write some but I am to afraid to receive the reviews that I get. I want to go and write one my self but I think that I would suck at it. I would like to know what do you think of fanfiction or role play? Does anyone know any good role play sites or fanfiction besides www.fanfiction.net?

The only fanfic that I write takes place in the Stargate universe, around the time between the final 'death' of Anubis and the advent of the Ori.

My only "Mary Sue" characterization is that of an archeo-technologist working a dig where a lot of Ancient artifacts are being found. He's not much of a hero, nor does he "get the girl" like the heroes do. He is an Aspie, however ...

Chances are, you are going to be much better than 90% of the writers on there. Trust me, most of the stuff on that site is terribly written and/or horribly unoriginal.

While I greatly enjoy coming up with fanfiction in my own mind, I never write it down because I'm afraid of getting bad reviews. I know that I am capable of writing a good plot and have good writing mechanics, but it's the themes in my stories that would make people angry with me. I basically do everything you're not supposed to do in fanfiction - crossovers, slash/femslash and even a Mary Sue!

I write fanfiction, but i'm a newbie.
I wrote only 3 complete fanfictions, and i'm writing a fourth. I have planned at least 10 fanfictions, but i'm very slow to write them.
I can link them if you want, but they're in italian.

I don't write them since I'm not a big fan of anything, but I do sometimes read them on fanfiction.net. Most of it is hilariously bad or really weird, I once read one of that 2001 planet of the apes film and it was just wrooooong. Something to do with Thade pressuring Ari to make out with him. 8O

It has a Star Trek setting but it mostly takes place in the Stargate universe. I bet you did not read the whole thing yet but the main characters get transported to the Stargate universe. I also say it is a Stargate fanfic so I don't spoil the story much.

Huh, who knew there were sites for fanfiction. Makes sense though there seems to be a site for everything now.

I'll often think of things in my head but never really write. Making up a plot and finding a way to get things in action sounds kinda difficult. I've never really read fanfiction either. I'm scared that they will ruin the way I see the characters and maybe even how I feel about whatever the fanfiction is about.

I used to be a more prolific fanfiction writer about six or so years ago, but then I stopped for a long time. Recently I got tired of still receiving emails/reviews from people begging me to update my most popular story so I decided to go back and finish it (just that one).

Unfortunately I'm spoiled and used to receiving up to 60 reviews per chapter, but since I started writing again I'm lucky to receive 5 because all my old followers left ages ago and I don't think the site is nearly as popular as it once was. But these days I'm writing more for the love of writing than the reviews/favourite adds/C2 community invites (I used to be such a review whore XD).

btw, the best way to find the good stuff on ff.net (because there's a lot of crap on there) is to check out the C2 communities. If you have a favourite pairing, or subgenre, within your genre (eg. you're into Harry Potter fanfiction, but you particularly enjoy reading Dark!Harry stories), find the most subscribed to C2 for that subgenre, and search through the stories listed in there.

Another way to search out the well written fanfics is to find an author you particularly like, and then go through their favourites list for other stories they recommend.
