...when you're only doing your best to help them with something out of friendliness and/or care?

I'm not sure what mindgames are.

Actually it's the other way around - I'm paranoid that other people play mind games with me even though I know they're probably just interacting with me normally or even being helpful.

I third. I wear myself out mentally to stay ahead and still end up zagging where I should have zigged

Maybe. Things I read online makes me wonder if people think I do them. I have been accused of it before when all I was doing was to keep any man from using me for sex.

It's also that way for me, as well.

"You're manipulative."
"You're a psychopath."
"You're the Antichrist."
"You're a false prophet."

All of those were mentioned. Usually, people accuse me of the most heinous crimes imaginable when I'm being genuine, so I've stopped being genuine in most situations. Things people accuse me of on this forum aren't half as bad as the worst things I hear in a day. The only thing that's worse is when people talk to each other about me. It's just that much worse if they're not addressing me, but talking in third person to another person.

Perhaps the solution is to bid my remaining good intentions farewell. :pirat:
