Ah yes, Uncle Quentin, as featured in The Comic Strip Presents in the episodes "Five Go Mad In Dorset" and "Five Go Mad On Mescalin." He was gay and got involved in crime to supply his narcotic addiction, and the Five got him arrested for these sins. An affectionate tilt at Enid Blyton's traditional British Tory values. I guess the gayness was alluding to Quentin Crisp, the famous British gay chap.
