I have a hard time visualizing; most of the images I get in my head are fuzzy, with an overlay of abstract concepts and emotions.

That doesn't stop me from daydreaming though :)

I don't know what NLD or NLVD is but I can visualize great sometimes. I giggle when I do it awsomely and I can see everything so clearly. It's like there is a screen right infront of me.

I notice this problem most when trying to listen to someone describe something, especially over the phone, and they want me to see what they are describing. I get really infuriated because I absolutely can't and have to get off the phone pretty quickly afterward. I need to see something in order to understand what it is or in any way interpret it. As with my art ability, I'm limited to those things I can visually see as a means of interpretation and likewise am completely lacking in imagination.

Sorta.... but i don't really have an idea what visualization deficit would look like. The images in my head when i visualize, are far from clear. But they work. Just don't ask me to draw a schematic or fold or animate something complex. That would be next to impossible. I can fold cubes, simple shapes, i can visualize people, houses, shapes. But it's nothing greatly detailed, and it's "strong" point.

I'm NLD and intensely verbally-focused. I do not think in pictures readily - mostly words and sounds with some vague images, as someone else described. As far as how I daydream, I do so constantly. It's just probably not as visual or image-based as it is for many people.

Some above have tried to draw a dichotomy between Asperger's/autism and NLD. That is actually a pretty messy topic. The first psychologist who evaluated me thought I was NLD but not ASD. I later learned that some people think that NLD is a subset or variation of ASD, and that others think that while it's possible to be NLD and not ASD, it is certainly possible and indeed common to have characteristics of both, as I do. I was, in fact, later diagnosed with ASD.

I think the thing with autism is that it often manifests itself in extremes. Some people are intensely visual thinkers. I am not. NLD brings with it its own set of communication problems, incidentally.
