If I didn't know what the segment was about, I'd have thought it was some kind of terrible parody. I think that singer is awful. I guess you don't have to be a good singer to be on Broadway.

I'm still pissed off at this, and I saw it nearly 24 hours ago. How that ever aired on public television is beyond me.

Reminds me of the way many people will administer electrical shocks to another human because somebody in a white coat told them to do it...

Kind of the way people will mistreat others because a talk-show host told them to do it.

When people like Dr. Phil and these a**holes on tv talk bad about autistic children and giving sympathy to the parents, that is encouraging more bad treatment towards autistics. I remember watching a dr. phil clip thinking it came across as autism speaks. Sure enough, went to the website and autism speaks. They showed a clip of the kid saying something bad to his mom over and over and I thought..that sounds like tourettes. Turns out they didn't even mention tourettes but on the website tourettes with his autism was mentioned.

All this awareness campaign really is...HEY PAY ATTENTION TO THESE SIGNS SO YOU CAN PICK THEM OUT AND HURT THEM. When bullies see these programs autistics become easy targets because their parents don't love them is the message.

Great, now Dr. Phil is on my hit list too.

It's a good thing I wasn't the kid in the video. There's no way I'd be able to control my laughter during that completely awful song, and then the title of the video would be "Autistic kid is a huge a-hole" =D

I agree with a couple other people, the worst part of the video is how they make Zack (sp?) out to be this huge hero. They even gave him this huge gift "basket" as if to say "Here's a prize for being a great guy! Oh, and Graham, don't feel too left out. We gave him two baseball tickets, maybe he'll bring you if you ask him real nice!" @_@

I was confused by that reaction. Graham thought the song was sad and they all laughed. Why would they react like that?

Everybody always laughs at me when I say things like that. I don't mind it though, people like "the funny guy", so I just go with it. Of course, sometimes it backfires on me on the rare occasion that I'm actually trying to be serious.

I think they just laughed because it wasn't what they were expecting him to say. Using the "unexpected" is a really big tool in the humor catalogue.

Guys, this video... I'm just speechless. I think I'd want to kill myself if I was that little kid in the video. Please watch it, I doubt you've ever seen anything quite as ridiculous/awkward as this.

Hey Zach! You're a hero for not being an a**hole! So glad you can go out of your way to follow the in crowd of other a**hole and control your urges to pick on that...that.....angel in disguise.

Uggh the more I watch this video the more I think she did it on purpose.

After he cried and he revealed it was too sad they laughed?

If that is what being normal is really about, I'd say normal people aren't that great.

It's very insulting because it implies that any NTs that have been and are my friends are doing something ultra heroic and are saints just for making friends with the poor little autistic kiddy.

Exactly. The whole idea that we should be pitied is disgusting in itself, but then to add that whole other element is just unbelievably wrong.

"KLG" is a pretentious, stuck up snob. She was when she was on the show with Regis (& boy did Regis really go even LOWER with the new blonde of the month!) and she STILL is on the Today show, she never really gives Hoda a chance to speak.

She often talks over her interviewees (I suppose THAT'S because her opinion is more important?), which is why I no longer watch the Today show.

BTW, when was this aired? It was obviously during the Holidays.....was it last year?
