After many months of waiting for an appointment I finally got one scheduled for next month. I'm really glad but also really nervous and kind of going insane with documenting my traits. If anyone has any information on the procedure or tests or what to expect, I'd be interested.

I did not know they had autism assessment facilities on the moon :D.

It varies a lot. The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule(ADOS) test is used a lot. It is usually a number of tests combined with observation. Sometimes parents are interviewed and school records used. There might be more than one session

The goal should be ASD diagnosis per se but to get a diagnosis that will help you with your issues.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello. Getting a diagnosis/evaluation helped me a great deal. It made a lot of things slot into place and it made me feel like I belong somewhere. I can't say a lot more than that. But it helped and i Hope it helps you too. And Ps i really love the Beatles and I hope they give you the pleasure they have given me.

What to expect:
You'll take various tests, some verbal, some written. I was asked to repeat a series of numbers spoken to me forwards and as many as I could backwards in one part. They gave me the test where you arrange pictures into a story and explain what's happening in each. I was given the Rorschach test as part of the overall battery (they didn't go into the testing looking for ASD specifically in my situation).

A guy interviewed me, and asked my parents about what behaviors I had as a small child. I'm sure there was more, but this was many years ago. For me the diagnosis was quite isolating for years until I finally heard of other people who had this 'condition'. I'm encouraged that people today can receive an AS diagnosis and realize they're in good company. :)

Is some difference between these tests (These tests I did, the psychologist told me, that I have probably AS. She was not sure, she didn't have experience with this.) and tests focussed on ASD?

I don't know for sure since some tests may be evaluating multiple things.

However, here are some of the questions you should expect to see:
The Aspie Quiz

And in this lecture, Tony Attwood helps answer the question,
"Could it Be Aspergers?" in pretty specific detail.

I wonder if it would be beneficial to take the evaluation before studying in this situation though. In any case, answering the questions honestly and to the best of your ability should give you the most accurate result.
