...supposed to hate?

One thing I like is denim jeans. In fact, they're all I ever wear usually. When I was a kid I wanted to wear jeans like the other kids at school, but mom couldn't seem to find a pair that actually fit or wasn't insanely difficult to zip up. I didn't really start wearing jeans until I was almost a teenager. And I HATE sweat pants!

So what things do you like that that other autistic people cannot stand? Or what stereotypical autistic things do you hate or just aren't into, like headphones or weighted blankets? :)

Bright lights. I can't stand dim lights. Being in a very brightly-lit room is so comfortable for my eyes. Dim light can make my eyeballs feel like they're stretched wide.

Being touched, no matter what mood I'm in. I love being touched - if it's socially appropriate of course.

Communicating during meltdowns. Most autistics tend to prefer being alone during a meltdown, or can't communicate at all. When having a meltdown the only thing I need is to be around people I trust and being reassured or comforted is the best thing for me. It's really hard having a meltdown when alone.

Socialising being the best thing about work. It's what motivates me to get up and go in to work. I don't mind being at home though. But if I had a job where nobody talked to me, I'd become too depressed to focus on my work.

Danger.
Anxiety.

Inhumanity.

The first things that come to my mind here are relationship related. I love spending lots of time with my romantic partner & being very affectionate with her. I'm more attracted to women who are more emotional & I think being supportive within a relationship is one of my biggest relationship strengths though I don't go about it the typical NT way. However I'm anti-affection with everyone else & I tend to keep my distance physically & emotionally from others which is more typical of autistics.

I do lack NT social skills & have the typical autistic social issues but I also lack the smarts & intelligence that some Aspies like Bill Gates & Elon Musk have. I'm not book-smart & I struggled majorly in most school subjects. I do not have any specail skills or strengths with technology. I spend a lot of time on computer sometimes but I'm not great with computers. I find newer technology overly complicated and frustrating to learn & use. I believe smart technology is called smart because you need to be as smart as a scientific engineer to figure out how to use it correctly :x It's like I have a combo of the struggles of smarts of both NTs & autistics.

I like talking to people. Big and small talks, including making phone calls. And touching people, hugs and kisses everyday. Observing people and be curious about their everyday lives. :) As an aspie those don't always go well, but what can I do as an extrovert?

I'm fine with indoor lighting. As long as a light isn't shining into my eyes I don't have a problem with it and have indoor lights on all of the time.

The sun, though? I can't deal with the sun. It's very unpleasant for me.
