I'm not sure how helpful this thread may be, as it may be a very subjective personal preference type of thing. Similar to individual peoples favourite music etc. What one person loves may not do much for some one else. Although with a large enough response there does tend to be particular bands, albums, and songs that keep cropping up.

Maybe it might be helpful if anyone responding could give a brief description of what they like about any particular channel.

I feel it might become negatively focussed to go into channels I don't like, although there are some, so I would prefer to keep that out of this thread.

Bearing in mind that I am a 51 year old British male, it's quite natural that I'd have different tastes and preferences to a teenage girl for example, but this is fine.

I just like this guy, Paul. He lives in the same part of the country as me. Has a kind of a gruff / no nonsense approach which I like, but this is balanced out with his great sense of humour. I find him to be very much a person who totally thinks for himself, if you know what I mean. And I really like this about him. Unfortunately he has announced yesterday that he will be taking a break for various reasons. I hope he comes back soon. Lots of great stuff on his channel.

https://www.youtube.com/c/AspergersSyndromeDaily

I like this guy too. One of his taglines is that he's almost 70 years old, so he knows a thing or 2. He's an American ex-pastor. Like myself and Adult with Autism above, all 3 of us were diagnosed late in life, which is possibly why I relate to these channels more, and am looking for more like them. Some very helpful content on this channel in my opinion. From the perspective of an older guy.

I also like yosamdysam a lot. Very informative https://www.youtube.com/c/YoSamdySam

I'm starting to like this one. THe lady is quite quirky for sure, but she has a lot of thougthful things to say. https://www.youtube.com/c/WoodshedTheory

Quinn on the Auistmatic channel is good too. A lot of helpful content. https://www.youtube.com/c/Autistamatic

IN the early days I found channels like Aspergers from the inside very helpful. But his channel seems to be pitched at introductory level stuff. Which is great at first. But of course many people will want to progress onto other channels. Which are either more in depth, or more in line with the personal experiences, day to day life stories, more advisory etc. So many different types.

I'll check those out.
I usually just look at nerd type videos that are not about autism.

Thanks. I should probably point out that some of these channels are not the biggest or most popular Autism channels by any means. They are just the ones that I like.

This channel is more about living with autism from an autistic.

I was going to post Autistimatic. Love his channel. But I see it was already posted. :)

She was known "AnMish" back in the day, now she is "An Autistic Psychologist". I have no idea how good the current iteration of her channel is. Fortunately, she has kept the following video on. This helped me so much when I first got diagnosed and it remains the most powerful video about masking I have seen.

Thank you for posting this. I am planning on starting a channel as soon as I can figure out the technical details. I will let you guys know once I am able to start.

You're welcome.

Paul (Adult with Autism) has a good video on exactly this topic. Of course there'll be loads of other similar 'how to' videos on You Tube, but maybe not many of them will be from Autistic creators.

Good luck with your channel.

I was wrong about this channel in my OP

https://www.youtube.com/c/AspergersfromtheInside/videos

I think it was because it was one of the first channels i found, and it does have some helpful introductory stuff on there.

But I was wrong to say it's all introductory level stuff. That is not the case at all and there is a wide range of helpful content on there.,

Perhaps now would be a good time to plug my new Aspergers-related youtube channel:

Good idea for a thread and some interesting channels to check out, thanks!

My only input is a bit different as it's a work channel so a bit drier than others have posted but there is tons of interesting stuff going on in the DART/Salvesen Mindroom lab at the University of Edinburgh. Here's the link if anyone's interested https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnrbG3NqH-ejZAave6JFN6w

"Fathering Autism," I believe, is a good channel pertaining to a nonverbal girl with autism.

I would not support them at all. They exploit Abbey to no end. They are extremely controversial because of this. I also had a personal interaction with Asa and found him extremely mean and not supportive of Autistic people who are not like his daughter. I do not like them at all. I would stay away from them. The way they have been abusive to Abbey in how they exploit her is criminal. They also preach ABA like it was the best thing ever.

I usually like Stephanie Bethany.

This one involves the Tania Marshall list, but I figure it's a good way to introduce both women.

Hey everyone.
I told you I would let you all know when I started my channel. I posted my first video today. I am still trying to figure out how it all works. It's all very confusing.

If you guys want, I can share the info with you. As soon as I do, you will know who I am but you pretty much all know me anyway. Let me know if you want to see my first video.
