I bought Christmas gifts for over 40 people - some very small gifts, others quite nice. This year my close friend's father said he thinks I have a gift for giving gifts. It was a nice compliment. :) This was the second year I bought gifts for my friend & his immediate family - and completely nailed every single one. All the little kids in my life are always happy with the things I pick out for them, too. I don't obsess over it, I just do it - it comes naturally to me.

My mum obsesses over buying gifts for people. She worries that it's "not enough", or that it's "nothing special". She puts a pile of gifts on her bed, what are supposed to be for one person, and she says, "do you think that will be enough for [name of person the gifts are for]?" I tell her she shouldn't sweat over it, because I'm sure she's spent more on that person than what that person is spending on her. And when she thinks it's nothing special, I'm like "I'm sure these people aren't expecting a diamond ring for their birthday/Christmas!"
