Same here, I honestly dont understand just striking up a conversation, nor do i feel the need. Yet, if an interesting subject comes up, i try to tactfully add what I know to it (learning the tact is still a pain in some situations). If anything, i would prefer just a handful of people to at least have intelligent conversation with since I do suffer a fair amount of loneliness due to living single.

I'm not sure what that saying is. I am anti-social by nature but if I can find that person/people that I can connect with and really like, I'd be able to talk to them for hours if I have that opportunity. However, an opportunity like that comes very rarely for me.
