I learned a very important lesson when i was 2 years old.
I guess I can defer to authority. My dad taught me that, very well. The problem I have is not politely going with the flow. People tune in to the fact that your ideology is different, that you have a unique perspective and it makes them uncomfortable. They would rather you just be like the group. This presents problems like: She's not a 'team player'; Why can't she just follow along?; etc.
