Hello mikecartwright

There's one case when someone with AS is "forbidden" to drink alcohol: it's when that person takes medication.
In that case, it's not a legal ban but a medical one.

And also, there are people who act and react very badly when they've drunk. If it's so, it's much better for everybody when those persons avoid alcohol.

This is not true. An Aspie who has reached "drinking age" can purchase alcoholic beverages. It may not be the wisest thing to do, but it is legal.

It occurs to me that this may be a rhetorical question which naturally............any good Aspie will be eager to answer

And it's illegal for aspies to go to parties, drive, have friends, talk on the phone, use sarcasm. Violate any of this and you have to pay M&Ms.

My doctor has told me I am not allowed to drink alcohol. But not because of Asperger's. I am on blood thinner (Coumadin). The alchohol and Asperger's thing has got to be a myth. I cannot imagine such a law or the reasoning behind it.

Hey, wouldn't Asperger's be a good name for a brand of wine? Pass me a bottle of vintage 1944 Asperger's 8) .

I am actually giving very careful thought to cutting out alcohol completely or at least cutting it down to a negligible intake.

Only if you're under 21, just like it is for everyone else.

I guess I just assumed he was from the States. In that case, I'll reframe my reply: No, as long as you are over the legal age for alcohol consumption wherever you live.
