Do you people ever get mad at you when you try and socialize
Sometimes. But I think the key to holding a conversation is to ask questions of how their life is going or tell a story. I know my sister who gets by well with people in conversation i that she constantly tells stories - not always about her but her cats or her friends or whatever. To me and my autistic siblings, she can get on our nerves with these stories but we know her telling those stories is part of her social success.

Well that's what I tried...offering anecdotes in regards to the people I was talking to; they told me what I wanted to hear and/or cut me off.
Personally I don't try because that would be awkward anyways. ![]()

I was talking to a friend and she said "Do I need to tell you every single detail about my life?"
Well so much for trying to talk so I decided to just sit back and not say much and she can say whenever she wants to me and ask me anything about myself.

Talking to people in person is the thing I dread the most. There always seems to be something that ruins the experience. Even if there are good things going on, and everything is going smoothly, someone always wants to throw a wrench in it. The last job I had is prime example.
I have learned the hard way to be quieter, less open. To just smile silently at people and not really attempt to talk with them too much. Life is so much easier for me, at least here. I've been elsewhere and this is one of the most difficult places I have ever lived.
