Are we good at problem solving?

Yes but....
Almost all of my problem solving
is done subconsciously.
I'm used to telling people
"I can't think flat on my feet",
meaning I don't make
quick decisions.
It seems that I always
have to send a mental memo
to the problem solving dept,
and hope they (we, me?)
have been paying attention.
I picture them with
a continuously overflowing inbox,
so response time
is usually measured in days,
not minutes.
I've gotten used to
their plodding ways,
but still find them reliable.

Is answering things with poetry your thing?
It's kind of interesting.

And I tend to believe that I am exceptionally good at seeing connections between things in a way others cannot. Many connections, and in an instant.
This definitely can be the case, it is the same for me, but obviously not necessarily true for everyone. Mainly, even if you are able to see things in a different interesting way, you can end up discarding them because when you suggest it other people will tell you your idea is nonsense and stupid. I had to learn in school that if I submitted papers that were directly how I think, I would be given a failing grade and called stupid, so I had to translate how I say and write things on how NT's think, following the "rules" of logic, then I'll be called interesting and creative.
Another thing that I would say helps me in the problem solving department is that I am super rational, unbiased, and tend to be emotionless. For that reason, when in groups, people would sometimes let me handle tough problems they didn't want to deal with themselves.

I'm bad at problem solving but I'm dyslexic, have AD[H]D & get frustrated easily & I'm also not as smart as the average person.
