I am good with people! Do I really have aspergers?
But try 6 hours straight being "good" with people and then finding out you cant go home and relax because you now need to do another 4 hours of socializing and small talk. NOW how good are you with people

Wouldn't most people, other than very extraverted people, find this hard?

The (Lorna Wing) Passive and Stilted subtypes are less obvious than the other two subtypes, so you could be one of these. Also, Aspies in ideal surroundings are able to appear much more 'normal'. Remove them to a place which has various triggers and watch it happen! I don't think a brain damage would cause sensory issues (although I stand to be corrected on that). As it's a spectrum, people will vary widely in their presentations. Some are more affected by one trait and less in another and another Aspie could have a reversed affectedness of those traits. Meltdowns are not a criteria for AS, some people have shutdowns instead.

Given the extent to which Aspergers is over-diagnosed, it's certainly possible you don't have it. How's your cognitive functioning and sense of direction? Are you good at math? Is it possible you have NVLD and not Aspergers, given your history of brain damage?
I can be good at interacting with certain people some of the time
People have said things like, 'I never would have guessed' if I tell them I have Aspergers/a form of Autism
I think how good you can be at social interaction often depends on how good the other person is at it as well
- it's not a one way thing
We are judged by a one-size-fits-all standard of what is 'good social interaction' too but I judge on my own criteria
I don't need to get drunk and destroy my liver in order to interact with my friends so I'd see that as me being more
advanced at it than many people
I hate brutish bullies. I haven't been bullied as a kid and had a rather nurturing environment at school. Encountered attempts at bullying as an adult though. I've been practising various forms of martial arts for almost 20 years now and obviously know how to snap back verbally with some wit and cunning. Nasty people get a nasty surprise from me (a confused head is more "decapitatable", just ask any dragon hunter

- it's not a one way thing
I agree with this completely. If I am with someone who takes their turn at thinking of things to say and who carries their half of the conversation, then I can usually cope. But if I am with someone who expects me to carry more or less the whole conversation then I flounder around miserably.
