Kind of neither / either for me. I have no one who actually gives a molecule about me but, since I live in a commune, I have socialist infrastructure. So, if my heart is broken, tough luck chump, but if my hand is broken, immediate medical assistance. I should add my hands make almost 33% of the commune's marketable hammocks.

That's horrible that no one cares about your needs. I thought that the motto for communism was "from each according to his abilities; to each according to his needs". I think in actuality, they like what you can give them, but when you have actual needs you are S.O.L. I'm so sorry :-(

My mother is one of the few advocates I have, and I know she won't be around forever. She's not really that old, but sometimes she talks about getting a summer home down south when she and my dad retire. Meaning I will have to spend the long dark winters up here with practically no one. She said I could come with her and dad but I do not enjoy the thought of the "transitional shock" I will get just from the trip alone or the thought of having to pack up and leave every winter, plus I HATE hot weather! My mom hates the cold but I don't mind it, it's the summer I hate. The other week I told my mom all about the dangerous things I've heard about Florida, where she said she was thinking of going to in the winter, like alligators coming into people's homes, having hurricanes every five minutes and mosquitoes so big they look like small birds!
