I like a variety of colors from the categories in your poll.

I tend to be drawn to shades of blue, green, and purple. Ranging from deep lagoon to minty greens.
I typically dislike reds, pinks, and burnt oranges; However certain shades of orange captivate me, which is why my phone, vacuum, and luggage are all orange.

The one way I can decisively divide them up is by Dirty Colors and Clean Colors. I almost always dislike the Dirty Colors.

Has anyone taken a color acuity test?
I have not, but I would suspect that I have decent visual accuity due to being a commercial artist.

Can you explain a dirty color?

For instance I like darker colors more in the slate values, but can be subtle forms of warm neutral/cool neutral. A lot of color influence by Mucha.

Oddly, some of the rooms I am most comfortable in are rustic wood type of housing. A cabin if you will. I don't know why, but that is very soothing to me. Maybe more environment than color though.

Here's a pretty good explanation of clean vs. dirty colors (I suck at explaining it since I just see it automatically):
"What does clean and dirty even mean? Clean is the color without it being mixed with much gray to muddy it up. Dirty colors are typically muted with gray. Muted and muddy are other words that are used interchangeably with dirty."

I think I'll make a thread for the color acuity test. It would be interesting to see other people's results.

Visuals work best for me.

That would be what I call the slates. But I like them a bit paler or darker. Preferably darker.

Yes, I'm predominately visual with auditory coming in close second place. Hence why I'm always clogging up the threads with visual aids :P.

Here's the link to that color test if you're curious: http://www.xrite.com/online-color-test-challenge
And I made a poll/thread for the results (also in GAD).

I like vibrant colors, but my favorites are in the blue green range. Cyan, aqua, turquoise, teal, etc.

Darker colors work the best for me.

I don't know if this make sense, but vibrant colors are loud and too bright

Blue. Specifically tardis blue and the Christmas lights that are blue but alternate with a much lighter blue/white colour.

Also orange, almost neon but not quite, same with green.

I like natural colors, which can be cool, warm, or earth tones: all flower colors, royal blue, ocean blue, grass green, rust, burnt orange, sienna brown, crimson, yellow ochre. Can you tell that I like to paint?

I strongly dislike unnatural colors, fluorescent colors, saturated or vibrant colors, very bright colors, traffic cone orange, Gatorade blue, hot pink, neon green, that nasty yellow-green they use on modern fire trucks, and most of the colors used in Madison Avenue ads and pretty much every design ever to be published by AIGA. Some color combinations actually give me a headache--those vibrant colors that actually seem to vibrate when placed side by side.

I am "meh" about pastel colors in clothing or art--they seem like the artist or designer didn't know which style to choose, natural or artificial.

I especially like patterns, swirls, geometric or mathematical, or patterns found in nature.

I like Vibrant or Neon colours, they make me Hungry!!

I generally do not get overstimulated by colour though i really like bright colours, i have a hard time seeing dim colours.

I would like to thank everyone for replying so far. It's been very informative. Both on just the poll and the stated preferences and why.

Thank you all :) Hope to get more personal likes information from the community.

I'm really the opposite. Bright, saturated colors just seem too much, rather overwhelming, and I have to squint at them.

Dark colors. Bright ones hurt my eyes to the point where I have to change the color scheme on my computer to be black text on grey instead of white.

I love TARDIS blue! And I love orange but more of a red orange closer to orange than red.

I chose dark because I love black, gothy color schemes. Besides black, red is also my favorite colour. I wear all black , except for images on my t- shirts, or else I feel uncomfortable. I love rooms that are a red, especially a nice dark red, and black color scheme.
