Well, this has been enlightening.

Yes, they're just stupid.
I'm glad you have been enlightened. I do my best.

Now we have to work out where Sopho_Soph can get some confidence from.
Any suggestions?

I don’t know; somewhere out there, you know? Perhaps we should look under rocks, over hedges, over ledges; under beds, in closets, behind doors, in the attic; amongst the leaves? Somewhere out in the open that’s under the stars; under the stairs? Or, to be cruel to be kind we may just tell her to do her duty and pull her socks up, get over it and toughen up!

(I have no idea.)

Basically trying lots of different things. NEW things. I don't believe that AS are narrow. I think were are very good exploring lots of different things. You can get a sense of achieve out of it.

If you’re talking about Social Anxiety and stuff I've improved, but only sort of general areas. But it has also helped figure things out about NTs. I'm not so bother about the rest of it. I'll cover that if I need to. There is quite a lot in it to cover here though. But if you don’t get embarrassment I wouldn’t worry about why other people do you won't help.

Time will give you more confidence and the memories of unpleasant things in school fade. I didn't grow up until I was 30!

Steve, that is a fair comment and sure; not every thread wil be in everyone's interest but in a forum composed of 99% meaningless spam threads, it seems unlikely that a thread would be deleted for being derivative and unoriginal.

And yes, I am quite annoyed that I was flamed and insulted by an established member here just for having a different opinion. I thought this place was friendly and welcoming but am now beggining to see that it is like any other forum with its share of member politics and people with high post counts believing that they have supremacy of opinion.

Maybe the person who flamed me was a mod and later regretted their actions hence deleted the post to save face? In that case an apology or pm would be nice thanks, aylissa.

You seem to have a lot of maybes here and a lot of criticisms...maybe you'd like to take those up with alex? And your statistical data seems to be a little out...99% spam? If that is your estimation, then why don't you find another forum that will better suit your needs rather than flaming this one?

The thread in question was moved by another mod lest it become a flaming war so I suggest not pointing the finger and implicating someone flamed you badly because that isn't the case. I shall now return it here since it's absence seems to have been noted.

Wait, what? I can't tell if you're being serious. Is "pull up your socks" a real phrase? I've never heard it.

edit: i don't get embarrased though. It seems to me to be a waste of time.
Pointless.

Clearly you have some understanding of theory of mind, or else you wouldn't be able to predict what kind of response you would get by making a statement like that.

No, I find discussing it on the board preferable. I was forced to use maybes and make a thread to find out where the other one had gone because it just vanished and nobody said anything about it. Normally if mods are worried about a flame war they lock a thread rather than delete it and at the very least they make a comment on the board to advise of modding actions. That is normally considered good etiquette. Threads are normally deleted to save face...

99% was a figure of speech. I actually commented that I didn't mind all the spam here and appreciate that a lot of people enjoy it. I don't know why you would say that I have flamed this forum. I wasn't complaining about the forum; I was merely complaining that I had felt insulted by another poster.

How would it have become a flaming war? It was completely one sided...I had a different opinion to someone else and she posted back in an aggressive and condescending manner and called me an 'a**hole' amongst other things.

I can tell you one thing; if the boot was on the other foot and I had posted the things that she had; I would have probably been booted off here.

Excessive anxiety is pointless too, but no matter how many times my parents tell me that, it doesn't help.

Since it is not myself who moved the thread and I am not a mind reader, no point asking me that.
