I don't like wool, I've never heard of this Merino wool before, I may have to try it. I also don't like jeans. I've never tried silk, though I'd like to.

*sigh* I guess I am not going to get my answer about rather my mother meant us or everyone when she said "it's typical." :(

I guess I would have to ask her that myself what she meant, if she remembers saying it.

I can wear wool if I have too, but I hate how itchy it is. I've never have a problem with jeans- I wear them all the time.

Can anyone still feel the wool over their clothes they have on?

Sure, if it's one layer, and I saw another poster say the same thing at the top of the second page. The little fibers poke through and scratch. There had better be a thick layer, or multiple layers, underneath the wool.

Now that I think about it, those socks aren't wool at all...I'm just so used to calling them my "wool socks" that I said it without thinking  They do make me a bit itchy, but now that I think about it, all socks make me itchy...just that I wear them all the time in winter because my feet get so cold.

All this talk about sweaters got me remembering that I can't ever ever wear them ever. They're all tight and itchy and they've got long sleeves with tight wristbands...ugh :x

Wearing wool with a cotton shirt under it is fine. Wearing wool directly on the skin (other than my arms) is torture.

Same here

Maybe she meant typical as in thats one more fabric you can't wear?
I often hear typical in those terms used with food.

I can wear wool sweaters, but only if I am completed protected by a shirt underneath. If even the tiniest amount of wool touches my skin, it's unbearable.

I don't think I have ever worn wool, so I wouldn't know.

I had to ask it on another forum and on another board on here but this time I made my message different.

Maybe considering that aspies tend to get caught up with details and not neccesarily the whole picture, maybe thats why it went unanswered? Sorry from me atleast, i just noticed the whole "wear wool" thing.

I even like to wear wool on my bare skin.

She meant either (a) typical for you - you are sensitive to more then just wool? - or (b) typical for aspies - as this thread seems to confirm - or (c) typical for humans, which makes no sense considering the amount of woolen clothing available.
My guess is at (a).

I absolutely hated Wool clothes all the way into adulthood. Even now, I only wear them if there is a necessity. The fabric feels uncomfortable and scratchy.

I'm guessing people didn't read the whole post I wrote, instead they read part of it and stopped. I think I will start bolding words that are important like my questions. So people will notice them.

Maybe thats a good idea. I tend to get so caught up in one sentence or whatever that people write, i might just ignore the rest of the post even if i do read it all. Ive always been like this.
