I just found out yesterday that I am speaking at 2 autism conferences next year and speaking at a parent's meeting. For the autism conferences, one of them is small (just a 5 minute speech and 300 people) and the other is huge and I have to speak for 20 minutes. For the parents meeting, I also have to speak for 20 or more minutes. This is just the beginning. This is just by one person, I plan on contacting other people in different areas to see if they need speakers next year. I want to at least travel the country if not the world. That is my long term plans but it looks like things are happening at a faster rate than expected which is very good news. I never thought in a million years that I would be interested in this kind of thing. I always was terrified of public speaking. I have to contact NAMI to see if they want me to speak. I pray every day that I get to go to New York to speak to the UN on April 2nd. Just remember I have a contact that can do that! And at a gallery opening on Friday (last Friday that is) there is this one person that is going to talk to her school to see if I can speak at a special ed classroom. Since I am just a beginner in this, I will be paid in getting booths to sell my stuff instead of cash. But when I get big, I will get paid a lot of money. I learned that speakers get paid a lot of money if they do enough conferences.

Wow, that's great. Good luck with it all.
I'm not the best public speaker. I have to speak to the press in about a month. I'm pretty nervous.

And yes, that's why I'm going to teach. I figure I could do more good that way, by helping the kids go where they can go, than by doing much else, and then there's the sentimental factor thrown in.
