Thanksgiving/Chrsitmas dinner I usually take my DS and go into another room/outside to play it then come in when dinner's done LOL! I tend to eat in my room anyway away from people (IMO I grew acstuom to it and likeing it since I was constantly told slow down eating it got to the point fine I'll eat in my room and usually when I make the exception holiday time I upset my sister therefore retreated to my room.) :-(

i feel displaced if i am at someone else's place.

sometimes i have to go to people's houses and i want to leave as quickly as possible.
i do not like the smell or "feel" of other peoples houses. i must remain careful of my manners when i am at another persons house.
i do not know what to say so i say nothing when i am at someone else's house.

there is nothing for me to do at their house and so i want to go home.
my mind wanders out their door and i go outside and i still see nothing i feel familiar with.

when i am at someone's house, i have to sit in my allocated chair around a coffee table and prattle on.

i can not stand it and i refuse to try.
i do not care who i offend by getting up and going outside because i would go crazy just sitting in a circle facing other faces.

i do not stay long at other peoples homes. i try not to stay long enough to be expected to sit down.

when i am at my home i can go into my sound room and work with sounds and play the synthesizer and do whatever i like whenever i like.

i can dress however i like, and there are always wild animals that are my pets outside.
i like to unwind by spending time with my peaceful and simple animal friends. then i like to rewind by entertaining myself with doing things i can only do at my house.

being at my girlfriends house and waiting 20 minutes for her to finish showering, and having to sit in the tribal circle with her parents and her brothers, is excruciatingly claustrophobic to my senses.

i like to be at my home.

I remember hating it with a passion as a kid. It was the combination of a completely different environment, complete with strange smells and people having different rules. I also remember not liking food made at other people's houses...the smells and tastes were much too strange for me. I couldn't handle birthday parties or anything related, either.

Ironically, now that I have many good friends, I stay at their places all the time, often for days. :)

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

I don't mind going to people's houses, but I enjoy it much more if I have a way to leave. Say, I'd rather take my own car then ride with a friend in case they don't want to leave when I want to. I used to spend the night at people's houses pretty frequently, but I've pretty much quit doing that cause I just really don't like it. As a child I was bad at spending the whole night.

Generally I try to take something from home to keep me comfy when I go to someone's house. For something like Christmas when you're going to be there a while, I might take some books, my computer, or some DVDs and watch them in a empty room to get away from everyone. And magazines are always great...they're familiar and new at the same time. Or if I currently have a pet I'll bring them and that will keep me REALLY focused all day (I don't think I'll be taking my horse to Christmas this year though, lol).
