Thanks....so it seems that Watts knew what he was talking about. Is the original Greek text in the public domain? It would be interesting to track it down and see what it actually says.

Yes, it is. But I am not sure if you can find it on the Internet, but it might be possible.
A programme called Bibleworks is available with both the Greek and Hebrew text and different translations, grammar etc.

You can find it here:

http://www.bibleworks.com/download.html .

Jesus was anti-aspie.

Not entirely... sure he interacted with people far more naturally than the vast majority of aspies and autistics today, but his principles were all about sticking to his morals and ethics, and he could not be swayed.

if he had a special interest, it wasn't carpentry. that was a skill he'd learned to support himself. his special interest was clearly scripture, since that's all he talked about. he debated with the elders about it when he was 12 and impressed them with his knowledge, and that was after basically evading his family who was leaving town. he also had the trait of believing in justice. he also did seek solitude at times, or wanted to hang out with his group of friends, but multitudes followed him like he was a rock star, until popular opinion turned against him.

I'm not saying I believe the bible or not, but I've read it a few times. if jesus existed, I don't think there's enough evidence to say he was AS or schizophrenic.

IMHO much more high profile people would be on the schizophrenic spectrum than the autistic spectrum; like Marilyn Monroe was the daughter of a paranoid schizophrenic mother and was diagnosed as being borderline paranoid schizophrenic herself. Marylin Monroe Is kind of like an icon in spite of or perhaps even because of her condition. Very often in ancient times people who were perceived as being a bit "mad" by our standards were often revered back in ancient times. One of those was David Koresh who claimed to be the son of God himself. In this day and age he was view as a complete lunatic but in ancient times - since there were no firearms to complicate his position and power - he could just as easily become a cult hero a become another Jesus.

Wasn't he 3 in 1?

Thanks....I also found this:
http://wesley.nnu.edu/gnt/
All I need to do now is to find the bits in the English version which say "I am the son of God," search them out in the Greek version, and then learn Greek or otherwise get a translation of the relevent parts. Actually the translating seems to be possible using the Website itself......just click on the number next to the word, and you get a lot of info in the lower pane 8) Somebody's worked really hard on this I reckon.

Wild speculation can be fun so we could just go with it and not try to be insulting (by 'normies' standards). All we can go by is what was written a long time ago.

With the leadership skills, the touching, being surrounded crowds as mentioned above-forget it. True group management skills are rare in Aspies. I read books and have a business degree so have faked it in management but there is a limit. Who among us would want to draw a crowd and be surrounded by the masses. Touching sick people? I have worked in a hospital but still think it was mostly yucky and wore gloves a lot.

Buddha could be a different matter. He spent lots of time alone, had odd behaviors, may have reacted strongly to a natural drug, he also followed a different course and he did not care much about others. His course was Mahayana-finding his own way, going by himself. The Hinayana path with all the compassion and all of us getting on the same bus to get there was not his original stuff. Being on a crowded bus? I don't think so. Either did he. He would make a good aspy.
