People with Asperger's less likely to see purpose...
It's interesting -- and by interesting I mean insulting -- that the article frames the issue as an "impairment" in theory of mind rather than an enhanced ability to use logic and reason.
I know it holds true about myself. I have very little patience with superstition and supernatural beliefs, and I include religion among those (no offense intended to religious people).
HELL YEAH!!
I've thought like this since I was fifteen or sixteen and I don't have a religious bone in my body. I've nothing against organized religion and if people feel good following that sort of stuff (including my late parents) then more power to their elbow, but I need a church about as much as the pope needs an Uzi.

He does need an Uzi....
....pointed at his head, cocked, and fired. XD

I used to think that way (see purpose in everything), but only because my family was very religious. I went to Sunday school and church every single Sunday, and any other way of thinking was looked down upon. Now that I'm older, I'm much more rational. It kind of makes me angry when people think that God has granted them petty things such as a raise or a new car when people in third world countries beg God for food every day and get none. It seems to be a very self-centered and arrogant way of thinking.
