Other aspies and the types of people on this forum
Stop depressing me by deleting this thread.
For me, nothing of the sort has EVER happened. I'm very smart, gifted in literature - and maybe yes I do spend a little too much time playing video games, but if I have something important to do I definitely do not value playing AQW over finishing homework. Well, maybe I do - but I know doing homework is important ![]()
...I'm homeless, havtors pushing amputation of my big toe's on me , have lost every possession I had in my life , never got to go to college full-fleged
, more
........... I've heard it argued that I might be clinically depressed ~ But in my position I don't know what such a DX woild help ~ Some free pills from Medicare , while I'm homeless
?
Just about anything/everything I ever try to do is SO out of reach for me , I have no way to access things/" stand on a box "
.
Lol...
I am really starting to believe people with ASD don't even post on these forums and I'm just talking to puppets.
One of Asperger's own clients - one of his "little professors" - went on to become an actual professor of astronomy. From the very beginning, a diagnosis of AS could co-exist with an exceptional career:
...When I was 20 I was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital by my alchoholic parents (In one of two U.S. states where the legal threshold for ic'ing someone is lower than the other 48 ~ It is easier to commit someone in those two , I mean .) , and stuffed full of Thorazine , Mellaril
...........Later , out , I was at my mother's ~ She pestered me to start going toa program , eventually (1985?) , I did , I wasgo ~ And then , thogh I was going she threw me ou and made me homelss anyway
! !! !! !! !! !!
Basically , since then I've been homeless/near-homeless/" culturally " homeless ~ (Some exceptions , notably late 80s/early 90) ~ I kind of - somethimes - feel it's nearaing the end - even as , admittedly , I had a temporary respite with this nursing home stay (Whoo ! Really young and actiive , heh ??? It's nearing an end/I'm likely getting shown the door soon , anyway , and they have given up on really trying to save my toe
.) .
I'd like to try to go back to college (Which I never really did (I did it in a half-assed , no accomplishments way briefly .) , but , even like far lesser attempts by me to get help (Like , trying to improve my technology skill , which I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP WITH
)
...........
...I have lost EVERY possession and personal memento , too
...And , inheritances left tp me were stolen , by blood relatives and by a social service agency in San Francisco...And , my attepmpt (100% nonsuccessful) to fight back against the latter appears to have possibly gotten at least a semi-blacklist against me by SS/similar types here

I watched a documentary once about "Happiness." It said people with stronger familial bonds and a "community" around them, were far happier, than those that didn't have this. This occurred in people who had "successful" careers and those who were "coach potatoes" or even just lived in poorer communities. They said that as long as you had food, shelter, good physical health, love and support, you could be happy. Unfortunately, many people may have food and shelter, but they may not have the love and support, or health, and being Aspie may make it hard for them to seek it out. In saying this, it proves that people who don't have careers and special talents that exceed those of others are still capable of life long happiness. In fact, people in 3rd or 2nd world countries were more happy in general (as long as they had food and shelter and their health) than those in first world countries. To give a good example, Japan is known as a first world country and is a very driven country in terms of seeking success, but they also have the highest suicide rate of any country in the world.
Success does not always equal happiness. That's why I struggle with my family life, because although I consider myself quite successful (not overly so), I don't have the love and support of my family, which I have always craved. In saying this, I often wonder if I am capable of creating my own "family" (as in close friends) to fulfil this need within me.
