My family out of town recently threw a surprise birthday party for my sister.
When my dad told me about this I immediately said don't EVER do something like that for me.
Oh hell, I would just hate it.

I have only been to one or two house parties and I don't really feel like I missed out because of that.
A mini party with one or two others sounds much better.

I don't mind parties if I know most of the people there, but if I hardly know anyone, then I don't like it at all. It's not a sensory thing, it's a social thing for me. I also don't like it when everyone gets really drunk. Drinking is okay, and so are tipsy people, or even one or two fairly drunk people, but when like everyone is drunk, I don't like that.

My mom went to a party where she was going to meet some family members she had never met. I was invited but I said that I didn't want to go because it was a long way away and I knew only 1 person, and barely knew 4 others.

I'm more of a get a few friends together for dinner type of person.

Most of the parties I go to are at my cousin's house just across the street, and I know almost everyone there, so it's not a big deal, except that I get rather bored, since there's no one to talk about interesting stuff with. This girl from school invited me to a party about this time last year, and I almost had an anxiety attack in the car driving there because I had never been to her house before, and the mere thought of socializing gives me anxiety. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as I expected. There were less than 10 people, and no loud music. A few people got drunk, but they all had rides home. I can't say I enjoyed it, because I absolutely fail at socializing with people.

Ditto. I can tolerate loud music, but its not my cup of tea. When I do go to parties, I'm usually just keep to myself unless someone starts conversation or if it's just a few of my friends. I prefer a quieter evening playing Mario Party or something. But when its all people I don't know, I just kinda withdrawal.

In any parties, no matter what kind of atmosphere, I prefer the background. Just sit in the corner, eat/drink/whatever, and watch people. I'm passive around parties, I don't 'go wild'.
I fade in the background whenever a group activity is involved unless it's something I enjoy. Or if I turned out to be the center of attention. :|

And most at the time, I'm bored in any kind of parties or had no idea what am'I supposed to do. Usually, I just wait for something to happen or if someone just come to me.
After that, I just leave either like nothing happened, or feel like I wasted my time and move on anyway.

For me, no party is loud or chaotic enough for me to be driven away from it except boredom.

I'm not keen on parties either.

It just all seems like a lot of fuss and organised chaos to me.

People plan them to within an inch of their lives and it always ends up in some poor bastard having to do the cleaning up at the end of the night. There is nothing about a party that is to be enjoyed in my humble opinion, and that is whether you happen to be autistic or not.

Even the end of parties are weird. They just end. Full stop and without warning and I'm there expected to adjust to that after it's taken me since the invitation to get into the mindset of having to go to the f*****g thing.

Nar...I'd much rather stay at home, alone and curled up in my bitter and twisted armchair.

Give me a curry and a dvd any day of the week but parties, you can stick em.

My partner has a really big family and every time there is a birthday or celebration they all get together it's so overwhelming.

Unless there is someone there I feel I'm close to, I don't like them. But I do like the smaller ones where people tend to be more inclusive, but sometimes I feel bad for it because I feel like I'm bothering them. In bigger parties where I don't know anyone to well, I usually end up with either standing against a wall, sitting by myself or staying in the bathroom, fearing what people are going to think of me. I also leave as soon as possible.
