Will the diagnosis be tied to something that the employer would know?
You don't have to let them know about the diagnosis.

Imo, not wanting to be who you are is suicidal, no matter how justified your problems may be.

They want the intelligence lvl but they don't want the social difficulties that come with it ...

I thought that maybe employers would do a background check and find out. Find out what neurologists or psychiatrist's diagnoses me, and see what I post online. And discriminate even though they aren't allowed to.

Made different to make a difference

whether as victor or vanquished, isn't it better than sullen resignation?

Intelligence isn't neccesarly better

Well, unfourtunatly imo your best bet would be to try to find somebody you know or from your family who are participating in this (in larger companies), and asking them. Would be statistically unreliable to ask one person who maybe isn't honest, but i don't know what the neurologist or you would share about it at all.

I'm pretty sure that medical records are meant to be kept confidential, it would surprise me if an employer were able to find out that kind of information.

Just after my adult diagnosis as I was diagnosed as a child and an adult and both said the same thing.

Where I worked at the time was informed immediately by the Phychologists as he said my work must know immediately. I did give them permission to explain the diagnosis as I wasn’t going to tell them.

Things did change there and the way I was treated was bad to the point I had to leave.

A lot if not most of the people here seem to talk about how much anxiety they suffer from.

Your job doesn't need to know.

If you need certain accommodations, it may very well need to know.

Certe. If you need dim lights, noise-cancelling headphones, or a perfume-free environment, then your supervisor (at least) needs to know.

Also, if your co-workers think that it's funny to use phrases like "aspie-tards", then not only does your supervisor need to know, but so do Human Resources and maybe even your lawyer.

You will be hated like that, and eventually likely just forced to quit ^

Right if you want special stuff done for you. But if you're desire is to slip under the radar, just choose a job that is most likely to suit you. Even with low lights etc, you still have to finagle the social parts as NOBODY is going to hold your hand.

When I worked retail, my dx wasn't disclosed. I had no issues with customers in fact I rather fancied helping them find shoes. Now the messy stockroom and other employees frustrated me. I'm sure they knew I was different....outing a dx would have made it worse.
