i think the worst aspect for me as aspie would be loss of privacy.
I saw a documentary once in which 6 guys slept in one cell, and one guy never went to TV room or fitness etc, but stayed in bed with his head under the covers. I thought that would be me.

i think if it isn't already AS should be taken into account at trial, not nec to reduce sentence but to understand what problems person might have and what would be least likely to aggravate them in prison. For example if put someone in jail with serious sensory issues then they may become even more prone to meltdowns, and have their sentence extended as a result of violent outbreaks.

Apparently they are only just beginning to recognise that criminals might benefit from diff dietary regimes, or therapy.
Re: balanced meals etc. A reduced calorie regime would actually extend the criminals life expectancy! And a headmistress in London discovered after banning sugar from her school that the truancy rate fell radically, and violence in school was reduced. Also exam marks went up. ! ! They need to try this in prisons. Perfect environment for trying gluten and casein free diets etc too. Get them off those opiates they're so addicted to!
Seriously.

That's true but you are sent to jail/prison as punishment. You are not sent there for punishment.

What are you hoping to go on a cruise and get chocolates on your pillows - you are sent there for punishment!

You should see some prisoners on death row. They actually have it pretty good.

Nothing you could offer me would be worth sitting on death row.

I'm just saying.

The death row inmates in my state are treated like royalty.

There were times I might have LOVED to be on death row!

1. NO CARES!
2. FREE ENTERTAINMENT, EXERCISE, HEALTHCARE!
3. FREE ASSISTED SUICIDE!

at times, that would have sounded pretty nice. Did you know there are actually people commiting HEINOUS crimes that just WANT to get shot for trying to escape? It is called "suicide by cop"!
