Wow, what a cool story. So that's how you picked your favorite numbers then? Meanwhile, 114 and million are looking like mighty good numbers as well ... :)

Hurley actually wishes he didn't win. After he won the $114 million, his dad died, and some bad stuff happened to him so he thinks it was a curse. Then his plane crashed and he's been stuck on an island ever since although he will probably get off the island soon. It's from the TV show LOST. I thought someone here might watch it. It's on tonight at 9pm.

Lost is one of my favorite shows ever. I think my favorites that are currently on are Lost, Smallville, Heroes, Terminator, and Journeyman (which was probably canceled).

It depends, sometimes I need even [or I think something really bad will happen otherwise], other times it's odd [for the same reasons].

I like the number 9, but that's not related to OCD.

This thread fascinates me! I always wondered if anyone has this problem and now I know it's a common OCD behaviour.

My favourite number ever since early childhood is 4! I find it very even and symmetrical.

Most multiples of 4 is fine (unless it is also a multiple of 7 ... loses that symmetry I guess)

Off the top of my head, going through the numbers 1 to 100 these are the numbers I like (or can tolerate):

2, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 32, 36, 40, 48, 64, 72, 80, 84, 96, 100

4 and 16 are my favourite. If something has a scale of 1 to 100 (e.g. TV volume) then I'm also happy with 25, 50, and 75 since they are quartiles of 100

I'm really glad it's a low number, makes things easy for number of times I have to do things. However if I have to do something a fifth time (e.g. I clear my throat 4 times but find that it's still not "clear") then I have to do repeat it until I hit 16 (i.e. 4 x 4) times.

Anything prime and without a '6' is good for me.

Volume's on TV: Divisible by 5 and Even Numbers

Magic Number: 21, or numbers divisible by 4 up to 100. I just don't like most odd numbers, but 21 is the only one I can tolerate when dealing with certain things. Numbers isn't as big as an issue with my OCD tendencies as much as trying to complete a task by a certain time, or keeping everything in order (or at least where I can find it)

Magic numbers and OCD? For me, all good things have to come in two's, bad things should never come in two's. If a bad thing happens twice in a row, I have to force it to "happen" again. Otherwise it would bring bad things... OCD SUCKS!! !!

When I was a child I used to have a ''special number'', which was always 3. I always had to do everything 3 times, like rinse my cup out 3 times, kiss my mum 3 times, brush my hair each side 3 times, etc. But I very slowly outgrew it, and now I don't seem to have a ''special number'' any more. I don't even have a favourite number any more.
