Not quite to that degree, but I do tend to assume that people are the same gender as their avatars, and it's often a false assumption.

Likewise. (I hope no-one thinks I look like my avatar....)

But seriously...I have a username that clearly indicates I'm female, so I hope the gender thing isn't as confusing as with some people. I don't think it's relevant unless the discussion relates to gender stuff, in which case I'll look up the poster's gender before I respond to them.

I find people's choices generally quite intriguing. I don't tend to 'see' people as their avatar unless I know it actually is a picture of them. (Working that out is sometimes a little difficult if they're someone's favorite actor. I'm OK with music but absolutely crap on movies.)

Kurt is there because, well, he's Kurt. I do identify with him quite a lot.

Onion farmer here.

I do have similar feelings. I tend to remember people not as much by name as by their avatar. This causes quite a bit of confusion when they change it, as they get sortof a double memory, as though they are two different persons.

A notable exception is IntridCold, I always start reading his posts in the voice of the Joker but then revert back to normal about a sentence later.

I recognize the posters by the avatars, and don't remember the names of most of you at all, with a few exceptions.

Either I am actually a finnish goshawk, or I just tend to stare at people inappropriately if I look at them at all, so I figured it conveyed the mood.

Well I do connect avatars with the user somehow. As if they'd carry that picture with them in daily life too haha

I also used to get whether people were male of female confused and just assume they matched their avatar. But with celebrity/model pics, they are usually somebody's personal favorite, so more often than not they're the opposite sex.

Funny, but I've always got the association of some decoration for a Christmas tree. :P

Yeah, I asscociate people with their avatars. Also I don't like it when people change their avatars :( That's why I'm gonna probably have mine the same for as long as I have this account.

(I'm not sonic btw)

So given the three I have used, I am an acerbic 80's-band anime? *chuckle* I will probably develop a rotation, as there are so few that catch my eye over time.

I associate users with their avatars. I always imagine spokane girl looking like that film character in her avatar.
And I keep getting the genders mixed up because of their avatars, I though spongebobrocksmao was a girl because of spongebob's girly face.
