Certain wrestling shows is sometimes amusing for me (that is if it's scripted and added a certain amount of drama into it) It's not the violent part or the very sport itself I enjoy... But for now, I haven't watched any for the last 6 years now.
But sports in general... I don't get it. I only end up confused, even at the popular boxing and basketball at my place.

Out of all the choices listed, I would have to say sports/pro wrestling.
The only sport I could handle watching for a longer period of time is surfing, since I'm a surfer.
Most other sports that are broadcasted on TV are extremely boring to watch.

Because I enjoy the music. I don't care about anything regarding who the artist is. I just wanna listen to the song.
Same for movies and books and video/board/card games. I like the entertainment, and care nothing about the people behind it. They're completely irrelevant in respects to what I enjoy about it.
Sure, the music wouldn't exist without them, but that doesn't make me interested in them.

I don't get why anyone is into the artists. I understand about thinking one artist/band has a lot of nice songs. But I don't understand why the people behind it would interest anyone.

I completely get and follow most sports, but I don't get pro wrestling at all.

It's completely fake and staged.. the comedy doesn't make me laugh, the acting is atrocious, the physical side of it is fake too.. now tell my 9 year old self that and I'll tell you to f**k off and that the rock is awesome.

I watched wrestling when I was little, because my dad watched it, and I thought it was silly but I totally got into it anyway. It was like watching a soap opera.

I like college football, specifically SEC conference games. When an SEC team plays a team from a lesser division, it's usually boring.

I can't understand why people like baseball though, or basketball, as those to me are like watching paint dry.

I guess for me I just tend to have a lot of respect for artists themselves that I enjoy...so of course I am curious to know a little bit about the band making the music I like maybe get a little back story on them and where they came from. I mean not into like following every detail of their life I can get my hands on(most bands/artists i like don't get that kind of media attention anyways) but of course I am going to have some amount of interests in an individual who creates art(in this case music) I really enjoy. I guess also much of the time I will find myself relating to some of the lyrics so I imagine me and whoever wrote them likely have a few things in common. Also supporting bands I like, going to their concerts and such based on numerous interviews with bands it would seem they appreciate people showing up to see them perform and having a fan base....for me just cannot take the human factor out of it I guess. I'd feel bad just listening to the music without acknowledging the people behind it.

I like music and movies, but I don't like most musicals, its just not believable (there is a few that I like, because I think they are "cute" in their way, like Brigadoon, but I find most of them boring). I don't like theater either (usually the actors "overact" and speak very loud - I understand that it is the way it is done traditionally, but its just not my thing ), and opera is pretty boring to me as well, eventho I like parts of certain operas, but I never was able to watch a full opera, I get bored.

I cannot stand watching sports or when other people do but its because I cannot stand the background noise. Especially the whistle in football to stop the play. I don't know why but those noises make my skin crawl! (oh wait, I do, it is because of ASD). How can I stand to go to rock concerts then? Well, people go to one because they WANT to hear the music and don't have to "shut it out".

To me, it's opera. Although I like lots of music, this is an exception. I find it very tedious and very difficult to follow the plot. I haven't seen one myself, and I don't think I want to, either.

I'll never understand watching sports and people thinking they are a part of the team. It's a little boring to watch though I like to know the score and the stats are cool.

Opera is weird with all that singing. I don't like musicals either. They are supposed to talk and not sing. It drives me nuts. Though I'll tolerate The Rocky Horror Picture Show because of it's sheer ridiculousness.

Reality TV is weird but I like observing the social dynamics between the cast members.

I hate mockumentary or found footage movies. I don't like the shakey camera, etc. Plus it's boring. It doesn't really build that much suspense for me. I get pretty mad when I'm duped by a movie that looks good on Netflix only to find it is a movie of this type.

WWE is entertaining only because I like watching fights some. Though it's fake. Let's be real here. It's a soap opera for men. A very entertaining soap opera.

Soap opera's are weird and they make me mad always ending in a cliff hanger. I have this need to know what happens next. It's a trap... Be careful.

For me, that would be Video Games and "Magic: The Gathering." Because I'm the quiet type, many people think I'm the video game playing type. But I find nothing entertaining about video games. I find them to be the same thing over and over again, worthy of 10 minutes of diversion but overall pretty boring.

Is there a way to have this poll be multiple choices? I think some people may have more than one choice to choose.

I have to say, it is quite entertaining watching a classic wrestling match, say with Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant (who was over 7ft and weighed about 500lbs)

I voted for sport, and it seems I'm in good company. I think I understand why so many ordinary people like sport, but I don't seem have those circuits in my brain.

For me, opera is similar to sport - I can see why people would like it, but a lot of the symbolism of opera is lost on me and I don't speak Italian or German. I like some of the songs and tunes but it seems silly for people to sing a play, in fact it sounds sillier in English than in Italian. I really enjoyed "Juno and Avos"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juno_and_Avos_%28opera%29
but only for the music and visuals. I've little idea of the plot. I didn't think much to "Tommy." I liked "The Butterfly Ball," again because of the songs and the artwork.

I don't know what "Magic: The Gathering" is, but it somehow doesn't sound like the kind of thing I'd go for.

I don't get sports, pro wrestling, Magic: The Gathering, soap operas & telenovelas, idle gossip, rambling emo free-verse (it is NOT poetry!), and so-called "Reality" shows on TV. None of these are entertaining to me in the least.

I think with sports it's like a dominance thing (like ''Yeah, I'm the best'').
With team sports, that feeling is kinda amplified (the feeling of being on the same wavelength with others + the feeling of victory -> must be like the most euphoric feeling ever, besides orgasm). Bear in mind though, there has to be a trust/respect amongst your teammates to work together properly.
I guess a basic competency in physical ability is useful also.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of this video, but it's food for thought:
