Because they have small genitals & big ego's.

It makes them feel important. Of all the people that became police officers, that I know personally, they are all the most unsuitable dickheads.

People that I know would be great police officers, have no desire to be .

In other words, generally, the wrong types of people become coppers.

If I'm carrying weed then I tend to get a little anxious.

But otherwise ... I get annoyed, because I'm aqua-phobic and can't swim. Which is a requirement for joining the Danish Police Force.

This is where an Aspie, Autie, or Spectrum card kept immediately behind your ID where you can hand it to the officer with your ID can be helpful.

A printed card (even if you print it yourself) is taken more seriously than something which is merely verbally said.

I had a long ass beard and wore an interesting cap after 9/11. I got introduced to quite a few cops. LoL.

Most cases are handled on the street. It's important that you remain calm....

IF you can't, it might be a good idea to carry a card identifying yourself as Autistic.

And there is a possible zen turnaround:

If you visit your local police station with an advocate or family member and say something like: 'I'm on the autism spectrum; which means I'm different. I like to take walks, and occasionally in the past I'm been bullied. So I wanted to come in and introduce myself so you all can be more aware in case a situation arises.'

(and I think the dynamic would work better doing this with an advocate or family member, than by yourself)

And hopefully get the police on your side. :jester:

they are. it's what they do, especially in my area. i feel less safe with them around and i feel like theyre going to arrest me for doing nothing. they harrass you on the street for that. im going out for another night time walk tonight and i hope my strolling doesnt look suspicious in any way. last time i got stopped by a cop in a car who seemed to think i was committing a criminal offense by being outside.

I generally get nervous around cops.

I've been "pulled over" when walking at night 4 times...for "drunk walking", even though I don't drink...and last I checked it was better to walk home then drive home from the bar not to mention entirely legal.

I've been pulled over a couple times as well, they always take their damn time and sit there for 10 minutes "running my license".

I've also been "pulled over" twice when I was already out of my car and forced to let the cop search my car one of those times.
Like I'm going to say no and piss off the cop trying to give me a hard time.

This happens to me as well, I feel very nervous and anxious too.

They pulled me over twice or three times even because I wear hood in my head while driving.

Tips how NOT to get pulled over by the police while driving:
Don't look at the police car for more than 5 seconds, if you feel the urge to look use mirrors
Don't slow down more than 5km/h
Don't brake too hard, do it slowly (in non-panic way)
Don't wear hood on your head or otherwise cover your head (for sensory issues)
Don't drive too slow (it's suspicious and will defiantly make them pull you over and run ALL checks on you)
Even in panic try to keep your attention on the road and other vehicles

Funny video of police pulling me over and looking at my camera (yes, that is the funny part, looking at the camera): http://bit.ly/ORzLHM
Since the camera only shows front of the car you wont see the police car after it turns after me on the downhill at the very begining of the video.

Most young people detest police cars but the elderly adore them.

Panic attacks. All of them. I've been harassed so much by the cops that if anything actually happened I'd be severely reluctant to call them.

Police cars make me feel nervous, because I'm worried that I'll make a driving mistake and get pulled over. Driving safely and by the rules isn't necessarily easy.
