What is a party? Do you mean where dozens or hundreds of people gather together to drink, take drugs and hit on each other?

Then I hate parties.

I like small groups of people who are already my friends with perhaps one or two strangers.

Yes. I'm supposed to go to a family-friend one tomorrow with my mom, usually I'm okay if my cousin is there but I'm not sure that she will be. Otherwise, I'll probably just make frequent trips to the food table and keep a book handy.

I hate them all, but my reasons vary based on the type of party.

The ones that younger people throw: Too loud, too many people.

Dinner parties: I prefer to eat alone.

"High class" parties: Too many people who insist on social rules being followed, to the letter.

I don't really like ANY kind of party whether it be a children's party (I even hated these as a kid!), a family gathering, a disco of some variety or one of these sexed up orgy types which, thankfully, I have never experienced! I find the noise (and sometimes the lights) unbearable to the point where I can no longer cope and I'll end up either leaving the room or failing that, collapse with a 'stress seizure' (seriously, that can happen!). I go into major overload. Faces seem to all meld into one big blob, colors start mixing up, noises start to distort and the smell of sickly party food fills my nose. The last time I was invited to a teen party (years ago) I couldn't go because I felt so incredibly sick, not an excuse, genuine fear.

And age is not a factor, I am only 20 and I already hate parties. <me at a party.
