What have people said to you that made you suspect AS?
"You're super smart!"
"You completely missed the point."
"Make eye contact when you speak."
"Keep your voice down."
"You speak too fast."
"It was a joke!"
"That was obvious sarcasm."
"Stop fidgeting."
"Why do you move your hands like that?"
"Why do you rock your body that way?"
"You need to stop being so sensitive and taking things personal."
"That was really rude of you to say."
"You act like a computer."
"You nitpick too much."
"Your eyes make me uncomfortable, you have stare like a witch."
"Stop acting like your aunt!" (she is probably autistic)
"It bothers noone but you."
"It was rude. You shouldn't do it."
"Stop doing this!"
"Earth to Kate!"
"You don't have 'I'm busy' written on your forehead."
"How did you know that?!"
"You need to learn to compromise."
"Whole world won't accommodate to you! You need to accommodate to the world."
"You are not a kid anymore."
"Noone else understood it this way."
"Doesn't it bore you? You do the same thing day by day!"
"How can you eat this?"
"Keep your voice down."
"You are a middle schooler, right?" (when I was 24)
"You completely missed the point."
Ah this reminds me of some more:
"That was sarcasm."
"Oh my god, I want to say you're an idiot but you are like super smart."
"It was sarcasm."
"Why do you take his opinion? He thinks everything is not rude."
"It's not healthy to hit yourself." <--- I was flapping my hands
"Look at my eyes."
"You need to speak up."

That reminds me of a question a work colleague asked me about 20 years ago: "Do you think you're losing the plot?"
My reply: "I didn't realize there was a plot."
One of the few occasions that I had shown any self-awareness in my life, and I only realized that many years later.
It might be fun to counter their criticisms and shake up their complacency with remarks such as "oh, didn't anybody tell you? There isn't a plot."
I never new I had aspergers until I was 17 (20 now). I always new I was different though. All the other kids in my class thought I was strange (some made fun of me for it, some admired me for it). Most of my friend's and girlfriend's parents always thought I was on drugs the first few times I met them. I'd occasionally get asked why I never look people in the eyes, why I always look mad or sad (even when I'm not), etc..
At some social event, my coleagues told me "why are you so sad? Enjoy!"
When I become anxious or sensory overloaded others says to me. "you are a man! Be strong!"
Or "you are so smart!"
"you are too quiet!"
"you are too sensitive. A man must be stronger!"
Since a long time, I didn't understand the gender stereotypes and social hierarchies. I'm male, but because my strong emotions, sometimes mood swings, sensory issues, high-pitched voice, musical prosody, poor in sports, especially team sports, and lack of sense of asertivity, I believed that I have more feminity than masculinity.

My brother has classic autism; I am not native English speaker;
Autism spectrum is not disorder, is neurodiversity, talent and originality!
- "You hate everything."
- "Why do you have to wear your socks inside out?"
- "I was being sarcastic, okay?"
- "Your voice is really weird. Do you have an accent, or something?"
- "Why do you always have to DEBATE everything?"
- "Are you lying to me?"
- "What are you looking at?"
- "He reminds me of you." [He, in this context, was an obviously (in fact, quite stereotypically) autistic character in a book.]
- "Why do you always sound like you're giving a presentation?"
- "It's just a critique, okay?"
- "What did you say?"
- "Say it again."
- "Sorry, what?"
- "I can see the gears turning in your head."
- "You're figuring out the social rule, right? I'll leave you to it." [Friend who accepted my complete lack of social skills just like that.]

I never suspected I had High Functioning Autism or AS. When the doctor told me I was a High Functioning Autistic in 1994 I thought she said I was High Functioning and artistic. It would be 10 yrs before I learned she said I was autistic. I had no idea what autism even was back then. Up until I was diagnosed by her I had been told I was schizophrenic.

You're not exactly Mr Diplomacy, are you? (said by my ex-boss
You know why I'm doing all the talking, don't you? It's because you're not.
When people ask how you are, they don't expect to hear your recent life story.
That's the first human thing I've ever heard you say.
I omitted one of my all-time favourites here:
Do you only have one shirt?
I actually had about 12 shirts, but they were all absolutely identical plain dark blue!
