it gets me so anxious when im the middle of something and someone start to humming. im trying to convince my father to stop doing this. he knows that i have autism, but its like he does not understand the impact of his actions like humming has on me. how to make him understand, and stop it?

i feel breathless right now

its such a intrusive noise, even with my doors and windows closed i still can hear it

Same thing happens to me, it can even trigger a meltdown and to make things worse it is my sisters primary stim. However she does try to stop around me. Perhaps you could try to show him videos about SPD?

Same here. Sometimes a person using one of the computers in the library will start humming and it makes me want to throttle him. It really gets to me when a person starts whistling as well.
