How did the med affect you....good bad, side effects,
Did you try to cut the dose with better results?
What have you learned from the medicine's effects?
Did it create a very unexpected effect?

I recently took Apocillin (a variety of penicillin) and had no side effect.

I've been on quite a few meds for mental things & tremors & I had lots of problems with em. The side effects wer horrible. The mental meds mite of helped at 1st but I did NOT start feeling better till I quit em. They also had some long-term side effects. I have a harder time concentrating when doing things like reading, I zone out a lot & when typing a post; I type a lot slower & make a lot more spelling errors & typos than what I used to. I also feel I make much less sense than I used to & I have a harder time figuring out how to explain things. The meds really F`d up my attention witch was already very bad before. I also have a tremor disorder that the meds made worse. My mental problems got a lot better sense I quit all the meds.
For mental stuff; I've tried anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, mood-stabilizers, anti-anxiety, & ADHD meds.
I've tried some tremor meds after I got off the menial meds a bit & one of em made me feel like I was having a stroke & another made me sleep for over 10 hours a day. They did NOT help my tremors at all. I'm much better off NOT being on any meds unless I'm taking some because I get sick & have an infection.

I had the biggest trouble with meds that keyed to serotonin (celexa, prozac, etc). Around the middle of the day, i would be too tired too move and they shot my heart rate up (77-80 bpm), wound up taking a 4 hour nap a day or feeling overly anxious. It wasnt until a 5th med (wellbutrin) that i got the good results (less depress, less anxious, feeling more like me prior to depression . . . still existential though  ).

Adderall XR and Clonidine (sleep at night) are a great combination.

I was once put on a low dose (50mG before bed) of Trazadone to help with my sleep disturbances. It did help with that, but it also seemed to greatly amplify my paranoid tendencies. I went from mild paranoia that I recognized as such to thinking my colleagues were conspiring against me. I finally hit a reality check and stopped taking it a week or so later. The excess paranoia was gone almost immediately upon stopping taking it.

It also caused me to have very disturbing dreams along a given (paranoid) theme. In the dreams I always had to accomplish a difficult to seemingly impossible task. At some point I manage to find a way to make progress and at that point the task is made more difficult or something that was enabling me to make progress was taken away. These also went away when I stopped taking it.

Now I am experimenting with over the counter melatonin to help with my sleep. The only one I could find is also spiked with theanine and valerian extract as well, but it seems to be helping. Wow, just reading the label... it also has 25% daily B6, 20% daily calcium (calcium carbonate), 3% daily magnesium (magnesium hydroxide) along with glycine and GABA. What a cocktail! Anyway when I take it an hour before bedtime I seem to actually get sleepy and sleep fairly well through the night, without extra disturbing dreams.

My only other medications are for high blood pressure and high cholesterol and the only noticed effect that might correlate is that my extremities seem to fall asleep/go tingly more often and in unexpected situations.

In general, I dislike pills and drugs. I have found that pain medications do little for me (a typical red haired thing). Even morphine and demerol did not really get rid of pain, they just made me so out of my mind that I did not care.
