How did you guys score? Also if you want to specify if you have ASD or not, I find the difference in scores interesting.

I got 16/20, however this is one area that I actually don't have as much trouble with as other people with Autism might. It is a diverse spectrum, and no autistic person is the same.

Wow that's really good in general but especially since you have autism. My average score is 12/20. I haven't been diagnosed with Autism but I might have NVLD.

I scored 13/20. I am not diagnosed, but suspect I am on the spectrum.

This test was harder than other facial expression tests I've seen. I was surprised that I was wrong on a few! In fact, I remember one specific expression which I saw on someone IRL and misinterpreted then, too. Now I know!

I've tried these before and actually am proud of how well I did. I really surprised myself.

I got 13/20.

Can't for the life of me do the ones that are just the eyes.

Seen numerous mental health professionals who all agree I'm likely ASD, just waiting to see a psychologist. So not at the moment, no. I suppose I'm NT for now.

I got 15/20. The expressions on their faces were so exaggerated that I thought this test was a joke. And yes, I am an Aspie. ND 147/200, NT 85/200.

19/20
Wow. You've got an exceptional ability to read other people and understand what they're feeling. It's a great skill to have in a friend (and a poker player). Your score puts you in the upper echelons of emotional intelligence, yet research suggests that people can improve their emotion recognition skills with practice. So keep an eye out for our forthcoming empathy training tool, designed to boost your score even higher.

I mistaken compassion for sadness but it was probably compassion of sadness so the person on photo was feeling sadness(like I said) but not for own experience but for someone else experience so it was sadness called compassion so I deserve 20/20. I am diagnosed with Asperger.

It was easy because the expressions were exaggerated (very close to the face expressions I learned to make - like an actress - when I communicate emotions) and I only had to choose from 4 choices. The "pain" expression made me laugh - for me the guy was holding his breath for some reason but noone of the answers was close to it so I figured it must be some kind of pain.

15/20 and I am diagnosed with asperger. But I think the test if flawed. You learn the pictures by inference, and have unlimitied time. If you were to see those expressions for a split second, an aspie, who operates by logic, wouldn't be able to know by instinct what was going on.

I got 10/20. The problem with these tests is that in the real world people don't have a narrowed list of labels floating next to their heads every time they make an expression. If there weren't a list of labels to choose from, and I had to name the expression myself without the list giving hints, I would've scored much lower. I think it's the same for a lot of other people.
I don't think these accurately evaluate one's ability to understand facial expressions.
