......inspired by the pics posted today by scoots5012 :)

What's the worst/most inapproriate present you've even been given???

At one point my MIL seemed to be doing all she could to cause our eldest son to freak out, giving him the most inappropriate presents.
One year she gave him face paints for his birthday- even though she knew they completely freak him out- he opened the present and from the look on his face you'd have thought he'd just unwrapped a poisionous snake!
Then for Xmas (just a week later)- she gave him a make your own balloon animals twisting set. And of course he has a phobia about balloons popping.

Anyway would be interesting to see what 'thoughtful' gifts you've all been given. :)

I've gotten a few which were inappropriate for different reasons.

One was from my aunt, it was a jewelry making set, one of those "crafty kids" sorts of things. The problem was that I was atleast 15 at the time, and had never expressed an interest in jewelry of any kind, especially not the colorful, clay-baked, cartoony kind :? .

Another was from my grandmother.. who told me it was the perfect present for me :? . A "What Would Jesus Do?" necklace. I have nothing against Christianity, I was raised Catholic, but I just do not believe in it. The reason it upset me so much was because she thought I would love it.

On the topic of jewelry last year I got 3- yes 3- jewelry boxes!! I hardly ever were jewelry of any kind (it doesn't really mix with a baby lol).

It's really disappointing when you get the kind of present that makes you wonder 'do you know me at all???'

When I was a kid, I didn't have any interest in boy toys like cars or guns, but people used to give me these things from time to time.

my trend following sheeplike sister gets me the worst presents.

last years was a new low in inappropriate gifts - a seriously overpackaged fcuk body spray/shower gel set. encased in perspex....

I loathe overpackaged things as I am quite 'green' so that really was irritating. and 'designer' toiletries? not exactly high on my christmas list.......

the amount of times I've been given girly craft sets have gone beyond counting now... Pink clothing as well...why?! I hate pink, I'll never like pink, I never wear pink, so why buy me pink clothing?!

my gran asked me today if Id be eating turkey tomorrow- I've been vegetarian for 9-10 years now!

My mentally unstable uncle gave me a Michael Bolton CD when I was 16. What the hell? I've never liked Michael Bolton and I was into rap, grunge and other music. What 16 year old wants a Michael Bolton CD? Gag.
