Social etiquette vs Sociability
Hi everyone,
Wanted to save space on WP and ask if you guys could have a look at this post on my blog rather than pasting it on here. It is kinda long.
The Demon Run
It is an observation that I made regarding the above topic. Wanted to see what you thought.
Thanks in advance,
Mics
I like your blog, thanks for the link.
Interesting stuff about ATP. Did you know that gluten-intolerance, ( often-hidden/asymptomatic ) , and the resulting intestinal damage can severely reduce our ability to absorb several of the essential nutrients that you mention, and is associated with a couple of the conditions you list?
Totally agree about the difference between socialising and etiquette, and it sounds as if you had parents astonishingly like mine, not just the strictness, but on the subject of learning by rote a whole mass of appropriate social behaviours, without feeling any of the "happy buzz" that so many NT's seem to. These "tools" were more successful when I was a fresh-faced, almost preternaturally smooth-skinned and sparkly-eyed "girl"/young woman; I used my big smile a lot. :lol But age, ( I'm 46 ) and metabolic exhaustion after decades of too many concentrated carbos, have reduced the firepower of my smile and eyes, and exactly as you describe my previously charming smile now very often verges on being a snarl/alarming grimace, instead!! ! :lol
.
I bookmarked the blog. May I show it to my counselor?
Dryad, glad you found some common ground. Absolutely, share with your counselor. There is a print function on the "share this" button at the bottom of the post in the blog if that makes it easier for you. I am in therapy myself and sometimes the written word makes it so much easier than trying to think on my feet.

Take good care and good luck with therapy,
Mics

Totally, ouinon, I hear you! I was tested for Ceoliac disease early on in my physical dysfunction, I tested negative for antibodies, but like you said, it can be hidden/asymptomatic. I have been doing a bit of researching and basically there is a vast difference between disease (being pathological and testable) and dysfunction (symptomatic only) in the realm of medicine and what is treatable. It can make things very frustrating.
I hope your health is improving as you live a more authentic life. I seemed to have been pushed by forces beyond my understanding to seek the truth, even though I had no clue what that truth was until 8 months ago. I haven't seen much improvement since my AS "came out of the closet"

Take good care,
Mics
Thanks Janissy, I hope it helped in some way and I hope your daughter finds some peace and good health. It is a bit of minefield. Some days are downright horrible, some are bearable and some do contain nuggets of joy.
I just think of silly Monty Python quotes and smile
