my girlfriends who either aspie or hfa always trys acting too normal
at times, it really gets to me sometimes b/cuz shes very hard to communicate
with sometimes i have to becareful of what I say or do or I will hear her complain
about it. Now my question is do you know any folks with aspie or other disabilty
that try acting too normal for their own good. I mean , i have nothing against people
trying to be normal the best they can but as long as they dont put other people down
with aspie or other disabilty. I love her alot, I just need some advice if this is common with
people who have aspie or hfa.
.

I grew up trying to 'fake' normal and maybe that's often why people would not have guessed a lot of the issues I had. I forced myself into something I was not meant to be. I was meant to be different which I've finally accepted at 32 years of age. Of course, back when I was young too, things were a little different, Aspergers didn't exist as a diagnosis when I was a child, ADHD really didn't start being recognized where I lived till I was in late jr. high-sr. high. And being a female, well often issues are different as well.
