No, I'm not Mr. Morden...

Anyway, I go to a lot of other forums that are overrun by NTs. A lot of the stuff I say on these forums comes off as me being a dick when that's not my intention.

I just want people to think of me as helpful and full of insight and friendly and giving and not like I'm trying to be the center of attention or being a dick.

Anything I can to to combat this?

Pander to their egos. Treat adults like children, that usually works. I am serious. You need to coddle their little boo boos.

I do believe this to be the case.

forever standing by the "So, you have aspergers. My son has aspergers and he doesn't act like you do."or, "you can't use it as a crutch forever."

So, the underlying question is "What do you want?" :)

Everyone has Aspergers on the Internet: body language isn't even in the picture, you can't read or remember a face you've never seen, and misunderstanding social intent is elevated to an art form. It's great for us, but they're at a loss - or just happy to take advantage of the anonymity. Say what you have to say, clarify if the response and responder merit it; don't worry otherwise.

glad someone got the reference!

and I hadn't considered what you said before.

I feel as though a lot of the folks on other boards are in better positions than I am financially or better at doing what the topic is about (scale modeling) or just have better lives in general. At the same time though, I do feel smarter than most of them in many ways.
