Yes! I think I'm still kind of in denial about this fact but I really don't. You are far from alone!

I sort of feel that way, I just never feel like I relate to other people.

Welcome to the human condition.

We are all dealing with mysteries with damn few clues.

Join the club! Nobody really understands anybody else.

No, not even NTs.

What they do to communicate so well is to use themselves as a template. They assume that another NT will act much like they would, and think much like they would. The more like themselves the other NT is, the better they can communicate. But they don't truly know the other person--they only know themselves and apply that knowledge.

We will never be able to understand each other. All we can ever do is transfer information from one person to another--that is, use communication. Through communication, we can work out how other people are different from us and like us, and learn to predict them (sometimes) and work together with them (somewhat).

But in reality, we will all live our lives in our own little worlds--NT and autistic alike--never really touching anyone else's world. That is part of why I think humans are so unique: We're sentient creatures who can hold an entire universe in our heads, and each perspective is utterly inscrutable and beautifully unique.
